We do a rebuild list and this help but not permanent.

I just had this error message appear for a user on Point 5.4a. Her winpoint.ini included UNC names for paths (\\server\point\2007 and \\server\point\2006). I changed these to the drive letter that is already mapped for their use. I also discovered that one of her data folders in winpoint.ini pointed to c:\winpoint\local, which is a directory we create with Point Administrator for laptop users, but not for desktop users (which this user is). So after I deleted that and made the other change, she was able to sign into point, and open and work on files without errors.
