We've been runnig a networked version of Point for over a year with no problems.  I'm setting up VPN connectivity and have been successful in doing so.  However, I get the "An error occured during the move data process - 2147418113

Component: Full_Pntdata

File Group:

File:"

When trying to run setup.exe or run.exe from my laptop.

The fix for this was to assign NTFS permissios to both the Primary folder and user folder for that user, which I have.  This fixed it within the ofice, but not over VPN.

Any thoughts would be much appricated.

Thanks,

Dave

Like you found, the error message is typically caused by insufficient permissions to the pntdata folder. It might also be an issue with the install pushing files across the VPN. If you want the quick fix, do the entire installation to the local C drive then use the Point Admin to change the data folder path after the install.

it could also be hard drive space, so you may want to be sure the drive where pntdata is hosted is not low on disk space.
