| | Recently upgraded to 6.1. This promptly deleted my print groups, and removed some forms I use on a regular basis. Since I had a different print group for each investor, that creates problems. Where are these stored? I saw an older post around the time of the 6.0 upgrade (beginning of this year) that mentioned some .ini files to replace. Would the same rules apply to the new version? Could I simply take an .ini file from a computer that has not upgraded to 6.1, and put it on my 6.1 computer? |

| | The files you will need to dig up are BRWPG.ini and PRSPG.ini they were stored in the winpoint\pcl directory. they have been moved. On Vista you will find them at C:\Users\{logged on user name}\AppData\Local\Calyx Software\Point\AllUsers\ or if you have security you will see the users name as a subdirectory. C:\Users\{logged on user name}\AppData\Local\Calyx Software\Point\AllUsers\{loged in point user name} on the other operating system you will find them C:\Users\{logged on user name}\AppData\Local\Calyx Software\Point\AllUsers\{logged on user name} As a side note your settings should not have been removed. Its possible that another user ran Point and the settings moved to their profile.

| | I have discovered that I can't see any of my custom forms, reports, templates or print groups. So I don't know what other "settings" there are. These were all shared and stored on the server, all we did was update the clients. Should we have updated the server as well? |

| Were you using pds? Where did you store your shared template files? Maybe your copy is looking locally now. You can check the new version if you open winpoint.ini(should be in your windows directory if your not on Vista ) in the directory section you should see templates=. Is that path correct?

| | This is terribly annoying. We've used a login script for years to push out changes to the Print Groups to everyone. It's going to be much more difficult to do it when each user has a different directory. Is there any way to configure Point to look in the old directory? |

| Currently print groups belong to the user. You can use a shared print group. Shared print groups are stored in the template set. Users that access the same template set will see the same shared print groups.

Is there any way to delete the My Print Groups from every machine on the network in a manner that is faster than manually hitting every machine? |

| I think you would just have to adjust your login script to do it.

| BetaFisch (6/12/2008) I think you would just have to adjust your login script to do it.The problem is that the "My Print Groups" are now stored in C:\Documents and Settings\WindowsLoginName\Local Settings\Application Data\Calyx Software\Point\AllUsers\PointUserNameI'm not a scripting expert, it's probably possible, but I don't know how to tell the script to replace the path values of WindowsLoginName and PointUserName to search for and dynamically match each machine. |
