| | I just found out that loan officers are able to overwrite another loan officer's file with the same name. When a loan officer creates a new file and there is a duplicate filename, Point notifies the loan officer that there is a duplicate filename and if he/she would like to overwrite it. If he/she clicks yes, that other loan officer's file is overwritten by the new file!! Is there anyway to prevent this? Loan officers who do not have permission to access another loan officer's file shouldn't be able to overwrite their files. |

| The simplest way to deal with this would be to setup auto file naming. This way the LO doe not create the file name and should prevent accidental overwriting some one Else's file.

| | We like to name our own files, because if there is more than one file for a particular borrower, we can tell the difference between the 2 files by the filename. If we use the autonaming feature, how would we be able to tell 2 files for the same borrower apart other than having to open up the file? |

| what information are you associating with the file name that enables you to tell the loans apart? In Point we have an advanced search that lets you look/search many more loan details.

| | We have been naming our files Last Name, First Name. And if there is more than one file for a borrower, we name it Last Name, First Name (St Name). That way, we can search by last name very quicky, and know exactly which file is the one we want to work with by the street name. We usually allow the loan officers to name their files anything they want, but we change it to our naming system after they submit it in for processing and we move the file from the prospect to the borrower folder. Can we use autonaming in the prospect folder, but not in the borrower folder? |
