I've followed the instructions in Point to create an Export Template:

  1. Selected Output Format as custom ASCII.
  2. Executable to Launch is left blank.
  3. Document to Link to is left blank.
  4. An Output File Name was created.
  5. Fields for export selected.
  6. Saved file.

I opened a BRW record and selected my template for exporting - received error message "Export Template did not contain any fields to export."  The file in question is a complete borrower record of a closed transaction and there certainly is data in the selected fields.

Any idea on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Did you have the fields named as well as the field numbers completed? Do you have "Include field names in first row" selected from the advanced button? Below is a screen shot of an ACT! export template that works just fine. Look to see if there is anything you're leaving out.

Hope this helps.

Mike, the only difference I can see is that line one is blank in my screen because I deleted that field because I did not want to export that particular information.  Would having the first line blank cause a problem?

Removing the blank lines did the trick and it works  now.

Is there an easier way to delete the blank rows after I get rid of the data fields I don't want? I had to cut and paste each individual row to close up the gaps so there were no blank rows.

Thanks for the great help.
