Half of the computers in my office can only run one instance of Point at a time. If you try to open Point while it's already running, Windows just brings Point to the front.

The other half of computers in my office can run multiple instances of Point at the same time. This very useful when a person functions as more than one role. They can sign it to Point as one user, then open Point again and sign is as another user, and flip back and between the two just by clicking the task bar.

Does anyone know how to enable or disable this ability? I think it's a Windows setting, but I haven't been able to find it. We're running XP on all of the machines.

Thanks,

you can only run one Point application at a time.  If there are people that open more then one.  You will see some data integrity problems.

Well, we've been doing it for a long time with no problems at all. I just can't seem to be able to turn this ability on or off. Some computers can do it and some can't. It's a mystery for now.

Sorry, but I can give you any specific info you need in it.

edit: also, I copied it from a computer that can run two instances to a computer that can only run one, but it could still only run one.

All of them are 6.0a...the ones that can run multiple instances and those that can't.
