Using Point 6.0a I get a runtime termination error indicating autoword.exe "terminated in an unusual way" when printing a custom form with script running. This custom form handles the MailMergeBeforeRecordMerge event. Autoword fails to process any additional forms after this.

The MailMergeBeforeRecordMerge event is being used because I have to perform some relatively sophisticated calculations using the merge record database. This information isn't available after the merge is complete. Any ideas?

I am having similar problems with Autoword termination errors. We had to change the security on the Word "Normal.dot" file to prevent Point from writing to it. Of course now, whenever I use Word, I get a window saying something like cannot save Normal.dot. w00t

Changing the security on the Normal.dot file ended the problem with Autoword termination. We are 5.4 PDS.

I finally resolved the problem with the termination error. It was directly related to the manner and order in which the document events were being created and which instantiation method I was using. I still have a problem with the merge taking up to 7 minutes per document. I guess I'll deal with one hurdle at a time.
