Hi,

Please provide me some help on how to perform indexing using import.exe?  What parameters we need to pass when we run import.exe from command line? Also, Which all fields of Borrower information take part in indexing?

Thanks,

Vikas Rijhwani

Thanks & Regards,
Vikas

There isn't a built-in method for reindexing using import.exe. The only way to actually reindex using this utility is to loop through all of the files and re-import them. This is a very slow process and you have to do a couple of other things to ensure the reindexing takes place.

In PDS, it's a little simpler. Just change the file and save it. Don't alter the GUID field but make a minor change in one of the indexed fields, then change it back.

The indexed fields depend on the version of Point you're using and the type of index (1 or 2). Typically, they consist of the first 4 fields (1-4), 6, 18, 19, 6063, and the loan status dates in the Track > General screen. If you're using PDS you should consult the actual setup.

Bryan or Immanuel, feel free to correct anything that is wrong here.

When do you see PDS's index out of alignment?  you should not see a diffrence between what is on the file system and what is in the DB.  If you do its a sign that a component is not running and will lead to other issues.

What are the conditions when you see the need to rebuild Point's Index?
