I am having a peculiar problemusing 5.4 in a network using TS on a 2K3 server... I have about 44 remote users, averaging about 5-10 sessions on the server. When they change data folders, and click the Search button, Point will often (maybe 50% of the time) show the loans from the folder they just left, rather than the folder they just switched to. People are freaked out thinking loans are lost, misplaced, etc.. We just set this thing up last week, and this has become a huge problem. Additionally, the PCF function does not work on the Terminal Server, the arrow just changes to an hourglass and then the process just kind of dies out.Print to PDF function is also giving errors... Not having worked with Point in this environment prior to now, I'm kind of running blind. Any help would be appreciated!

Ed

I edited out serial number and serial+ and replaced with x's.

It's possible that the c:\winpoint\work folder is causing the problem. If everybody is sharing the same Work folder, this problem could occur because Point is storing a loans search cache. The solution is to setup a winpoint.ini file for each user in their windows profile (if you haven't already done so), then add Temporary=, the path should be something unique per user, like their profile temp folder. This should resolve the conflict.

I am going to take the terminal server down tomorrow to set up unique Winpoint folders for each user (rather that use the C:\Winpoint for all of them), and I already have unique Winpoint.ini folders for each user in their TS profiles.  What section of the .ini file would the Temporary= and user= arguments go into?  Under the Directories section?  Thanks a bunch for all your help and suggestions!

Well, I copied the C:\Winpoint folder to the root of each user's Z drive, changed the Winpoint.ini file to point there, and added the Temporary= and User= to point to Z:\Temp and Z:\WINPOINT\user respectively.  It seems to work well so far; I guess the litmus test will be Monday when the users come back to work! I also found out that the PDF printing issue was wrapped around a permissions problem in the user group, which when corrected works great...  Now the only thing left is this PCF issue.  The process is running, but the PCF application never actually starts.  I may just re-install Point and see if maybe that helps.  I checked it on an admin account to check for permission issues, but it doesn't run there either.  Any ideas?  I really appreciate all your feedback on these issues, you guys really saved my bacon.
