Has anyone had problems launching the application after upgrading to 5.1? I received failed to initialize com objects.

Does the Extended Search Option wizard come up when you launch the application? Does the splash screen ever come up?

Verify Microsoft .Net Framework is installed or simply reinstall it. You might get an error when opening .net configuration from control panel/administrative tools, another indication of a .net issue.
