There's another post about the Conversation Log that I didn't want to hijack, so I'm starting this one.

Is there a reason why the conversation log entries are able to be editted after they've been posted?  I really hate that someone can go into a log entry from 2 weeks ago and edit it.  I can not think of a single reason why any security minded individual would like this either.

I'd like to see log entries be read only after they've been posted to the log.

Chris

Chris, the only way I know of to set this to read only after a comment is made is to turn on Security in Point.

some times you want to fix spelling or typos.

It should be a security setting, that's all i can say.

I thought I had security set up on it.  My entire staff is set up with security settings.  Everyone has to sign in to Point, and processors (and underwriters) are the only ones with change access to files in the Borrower file and Loan Officers are the only ones with change access to files in the Prospect file.

I was shocked when one of my staff members told me that she could go in and edit her conversation log entry from 2-3 weeks prior and then I was further shocked that she could edit other people's entries as well.

Beta mentions that it should be a security setting, does that mean that I'm missing a setting or that Point is missing a setting?

I agree.  As a new Point user I was shocked to learn that conversation logs can be edited after the fact.  That's a huge issue since those logs may be subpoened as part of the loan file.

Chris, check your security settings for "Access to Secured Areas" if they have access to them, then they can edit the conv log. Of course restricting access to secured areas may cause you other problems.
