After I've pulled credit and later try to view it, it says "can't access files in C:\Winpoint\Work. Please check permissions for that directory"

This just started being a problem yesterday. It worked fine before that. It's on another user's machine, so I don't know if they inadvertantly altered some network setting or not.

Hulk,

I have seen this problem before when the user didn't have permissions to overwrite other user's files. Point uses the static filenames in the Work folder. To fix it, try the following:

1) Open the c:\winpoint\work folder on the user's machine.
2) Delete everything in the Work folder
3) Try again to view credit.

If this continues to happen, right-click the Work folder, click Properties, click the Security tab. Assign "Full Control" to "Everyone"

There is no security tab. I assume I need to log onto his machine as an administrator? I'm not sure how, but I guess I'll have to figure it out.

Windows XP. It doesn't matter. I deleted every file in the folder and now it works fine. I wonder what caused this hiccup?

This may occur to all computers using the same account login information for the credit agency.  If so, it is possible the credit agency may not be returning the credit report in their response.

If it does not seem to be an access rights issue to c:\winpoint\work, send the embdresponsecredit.xml to calyx support for review of returned data.

If you are on XP you might have to click on Tools - Folder options, then the view tab and scroll to the bottom to uncheck use simple file sharing, this may enable the security tab in the properties of the folder.

I am pretty sure XP Home you can boot in safe mode and the security tab will be there.

You are using a workgroup set up which can make things a bit more of a headache, if you can't see a security tab and your using not using XP home: open your C drive or explorer and click tool>folder options>view>scroll to the bottom and uncheck use simple filesharing. then you will have it.
