I have some processors that print custom forms that are dropping formatting. They use the file>print command and choose forms located in the custom forms tab (point 5.3). The process executes normally with no error messages, but when the document prints, all the formatting has changed. Page breaks are missing, headers and footers are lost and wrong sized paper is used (letter and legal are both involved in this form). Is there anyone out there that has experienced something like this or have a fix in mind?

Start with your print selections under the file menu in Point. Make sure each one is set up properly for your printer. When you select the printer, go through all of the printer options. If your printer has more than one mode (PCL vs. PS for example), use the mode that the manufacturer suggests. If that doesn't work, try the other modes.

Also, print spoolers in Windows can cause some problems like this. I usually recommend right-clicking on the printer and finding the spooler options (each printer manufacturer has their own tabs and settings). Try setting this to RAW mode or "print directly to the printer" and see if that clears up the problem. This will cause your document to take a little longer to appear to finish but it might clear up some problems.

Unfortunately, printer problems like this end up being resolved through a good deal of trial and error.
