Hello,

We are preparing to install 5.4 in a WS 03 TS.

The guide here was from 2005, does it still apply or are there any new steps or procedures to follow?

Also, when emailing from Point, we get an error message. I believe this is due to having Outlook 2003 and Exchange and Point on the same server. Has anyone found a solution for this?

Thank You

In my experience the instructions still work as of last week. I installed on a w2k3 TS w/30 users w/o many issues at all. I've been trying to get a Wiki up with a lot of the info I've put together... I promised it like 2 months ago, but I think I'm just a week from getting it up. I'll post the link next week.

Anyway,
What's the exact error message? Does it only happen when a user tries to send a PDF through Point? Why install everything on one server (SBS)? Historically Outlook & Exchange do not play nice on the same server, lots of CDO errors, etc. Microsoft has documented this extensively.

One thing that I have learned to try in most cases of user issues...

When you have small user issues, most times it has to due with the registry settings for each user. I find that logging in as an admin, change to install mode (change user /install), run the operation (ie Sending pdf, pulling credit, etc.), changing back to execute mode (change user /execute). Then having a user log in and test it.

This has solved a lot of my problems in the past.

Thanks for the info.

The error reads: Unspecified Failure has occurred

I am more than certain that it is due to everything being on the same server.

The reason for installing everything on the same server is monetary of course. These guys are a startup during a very difficult time for the industry.

If there is a way to make the email work that anybody knows, that would help me out greatly!

Good afternoon.  I was in the process of deploying Calyx Point via Terminal Server and was hoping you could offer me the installation notes that you mentioned in your last post.  I am running Win2k3 R2 on all of my servers and was hoping to configure the application on a central server w/ TS server client software piece.

Any insight you could offer would be most appreciated.

Thank you in advance!
