I would like to see the ability to take 500 point files that have been assigned to a particulary loan rep in the the Loan Rep field of the information screen and be able to reassign all 500 files or even part of them to another Loan Rep.

Example:  The Loan Rep field says Pam Smith she gets married and changes her name to Pam Taylor I need to be able to reassign her files to her new name.

Took me all day to do this last time someone changed their name.

Encompass can do this why can't Point?

You can do this in Point. This is so easy once that you setup it up once, it will take you litterally 2 minutes the next time you need to do it.

1) Create a Point report template with the following 2 fields: field 7 and field 19.

2) Setup a condition for field 19, i.e. Loan Rep="Pam Smith"

3) Generate the report

4) Export the report to Excel file. In Excel, change one of the rows to "Pam Taylor" then press Ctrl+C to copy. Highlight the whole loan rep column so all Pam Smith's are highlighted then press Ctrl+V to paste the name.

5) Save the excel file to a csv file

6) Create an import template in Point. Make sure update existing files is checked in the template. Add field 7 and field 19 to the import template. Make sure to click the Advanced tab and set your delimiters for the csv file.

7) Run batch import and voila, your loan files will be updated.

Note: if you have any tasks or reminders, updating the names in field 19 will not update the tasks or reminders.

Please PM me if you need any additional help to do this.

Bryan,

This does look easy.  I will give it a try.  By the way when I called Calyx Support they had no idea how to do this.

Thanks,

Tami

By the way, when you check update existing files in the import template, you actually do not need to explicitly add field 7 as the Update Existing Files checkbox will assume field 7. I will inform our support department of this solution. Thanks.

Bryan,

I PM'd you but haven't gotten a reply.  I have tried the steps above and it doesn't work.  Did you receive my PM?
