i feel like im asking a rookie question here, but how do i set up the GFE to handle the calculation of title insurance in the new Point 5.4. i used to just calculate it and type it in, but now they have this new set up, and the manual isnt really helpful. I know about going to utilities, and title tables, and then the lender's policy, and then add, i name it, i pick what its based on, click add again, and then this window pops up, and i dont know what to do.

what do i type in these fields?

You can click the Lock box icon and still enter your own calculated value, OR you can go to Utilities, enter the title company charts in the Add Range box. In the Up To box enter the highest loan amount which the fee is applied, in the base enter the base amount, in the factor enter the % which will multiplythe loan amount and add the base to it.

Hope that makes sense.

Is there any way to import the title insurance premiums for my particular state without creating rules saying "if a price is between 200,001-201,000 than the title insurance policy premium is $402" and "if a price is between $201,001-$202,000 than the title insurance policy premium is $403.20"?

I am still a little confuse about the title rate tables. How would i enter a charge that is a certain dollar amount for each $1,000 for money borrowed above the bottom threshold.

For instance, $300.00 base plus 3.00 for each $1,000 above $50,000.

Thanks

madler: If you have a spreadsheet from the title company you can convert it to the text format used by Point. The files are stored in \pnttempl\title.

tredmond: At this time, the tables do not accommodate a tiered pricing. You would have to enter each range one by one.
