| When I try to open a Fannie Mae report I get the following message Unable to create a Fannie Mae export file. |

| I don't quite follow you. Can you list the exact steps the user does to get this error?

| If the user has the loan open and goes to interfaces and then to Fannie Mae and clicks on Desktop Originator then the error (unable to create Fannie Mae export file). I think it has something to do with permissions because if I log into the same computer as administrator it will work. |

| It is definitely a permissions error. Check permissions on c:\winpoint\work. That is where the output file gets created.

| | I am having the same problem...but in a different screen. If I have the loan open, go : Interfaces --> Mortgage Insurace --> United Gauranty's MI Guide --> Send Data I get the following error window "Unable to create Fannie Mae export file" I can verify that the user has read/write/modify on the entire C:\Winpoint directory and that I have cleared the contents of the work folder, with no change. Running 5.2a, network setup. don't have this probelm on other computers configured the same way.

| | Browse to c:\pnttempl\intrface\mi. There is a file called ug.ini. Open the file in your notepad or text editor. Look at the OutputDataFile line. It should say c:\ug.fnm. The problem is the user does not have permissions to c: drive. Try changing the output data file path to a location they are allowed to write. You'll also need to change the part with file= too [Interface] OutputDataFile=c:\ug.fnm DocToLink=https://www.ugmiguide.com/servlet/com.ugcorp.apps.calyxupload.UploadServlet?src=calyx&file=c:\ug.fnm

| | This fixed the situation. Thanks Brian As a side note to this...it would be helpful to those of us that have to support this software, if in future releases, there was some attempt made to get the 3rd party vendors to all use the work directory for temp files. The reason for this is so that for those of us in a more secured environment can provide only write access to what the users need and not the entire machine. At our company our users are in a very locked down environment, we run almost a Least Privileged security setup and don't allow changes to C drive outside of specific folders.
