Is it possible to write back to the .BRW via the PDS Service. I'm looking to create and external app that can access the SQL database tables and modify certain data. Any sugguestions or ideas.

Thanks in advance.

PDS use of the sql db is strictly read only.  You would have to update the root point file.  I think there are examples of reading and writing point files on the old form you can look at.  Just keep in mind calyx can change the file structure at any time with out any warning.

Tell us a little more about what your external application does. Also specifically, what fields would you like to read or modify?

The PDS database, as previously stated, is strictly read only for Point file data. It is used speed many operations like searches, reports, etc. PDS also makes user and folder administration easier.

It is very useful to know what Point data you want to read, write or update and why so we can include those consideration in future product designs. Thanks!
