having problems with Other Incomes just disappearing out of files... after inputing the values and saving the file, the numbers appear correctly... entering into the file later (no specific duration) sometimes the values are just gone... in the Gross Monthly Income Chart and the Describe portion?

Anyone else having this problem?

We have experienced this type of behavior in several different versions of Point. The inclination is to blame user error but we have isolated cases where that wasn't possible. The issue is, having just a field or two dissappear requires a process that can read/write Calyx Point files. In one case, Point hadn't been run so our conclusion was that some calculation process within Point made the fields blank out when it was loaded. We confirmed this by examining the file before saving it. The fields were in the file but didn't show in Point. It's still a mystery.

In other cases, we were able to identify a process that was "reverting" files to their former state. Certain backup software, antivirus software, and anti-spyware can act this way.

A more common cause of this is for users to open the same file simultaneously. One gets the in-use message but opens it and forgets. An hour later they come back, save the file (since it's now available), and overwrite the changes the other user made. We had to browbeat some people to keep them from doing this.

If you have the files that where point made fields disapear, have you let support know your findings?  It would be good for out QA to test a few.

I have a user that is reporting this issue as well.  One thing that is particularly odd about it is that although the detail under the description area and the income listed disappear, the totals are still present in the Other section above. This has happened on 3 different files for this user only - 5.4.
