Let me see if I understand the problem.

  • When viewing a credit report, you can do a "Save As" PDF on some machines.
  • On other machines, when you try to view a PDF credit report the option to "Save As" PDF is missing?

Some credit bureaus will allow you to setup in your account the ability to receive PDF reports instead of HTML reports.

Alternatively, you can simply print the report to an electronic PDF file if you already a PDF writer. If you don't have one, you don't have to purchase the full version of Abobe. There are many freeware PDF writer programs. I haven't tried them all but they should work just fine:

On an added note, pdf995 caused a conflict for me when E-mailing documents from Point.  Point was not able to generate the pdf file becuase of a conflict with pdf995.  I have to uninstall pdf995 before Point would generate .pdf files from the forms when E-mailing so you might want to stay away from pdf995.

and yes, some credit agencies use pdf and some use html.  You can pretty much tell becuase the ones that use pdf, adobe will open and give you all file, edit, tools options but if it is html, it will not give you the toolbar options.

I should have said this earlier but that conflict with df995 was in version 5.0, not sure if it will occur with Point v.5.1.

Larry - what you could do is create a shortcut on the Desktop called something like Point Credit Report (easy for the user) and point it to c:\winpoint\work\embdcredit.html.  The trick is the user would have to view the credit report in Point first, then minimize Point and open the shortcut on the desktop.  It will always show the last report that was viewed but will use Internet Explorer to open, thus, giving you toolbar options and can save it as.
