Our form print groups are dispapearing. We get them set up and everyone sees them and uses them for a few weeks then..... bam .....they disappear. This happened on 5.2, 5.3 possibly 5.1. We have the new 5.3 update.

Any ideas?

Look here.  Probably an access rights issue to the Print Groups folder.

Nope. Everyone is on the same version with the 5.3 update. I did them all myself so I know they are done. My IT guy just checked the permissions and they are all set up fine.

Support had no ideas.

So I guess I'll just wait again for them all to disappear.....

are these the personal print groups or the shared print groups that seem to dissapear?

Maybe you should try looking at the time the print group file is modified or deleted and see if it corresponds with any other actions on the server, such as, automatic backup, etc...

I had the same thing happening a month or so ago.  Only happened when I installed the update to 5.3.  My problem was that a loan officer using his own personal laptop.  It didn't have the update installed and when he connected to our network it somehow screwed up the print groups.  All I had to do was install the update to his laptop.

Maybe there's a computer that didn't get the update or is running an old version?

I, too, have had this happen and I've identified a recent user that logged in under 5.2.  Is it safe to assume that if I upgrade them to 5.4 that the shared print groups will return?  or do I have to reset up the groups?

This all points to the pnttempl folder. Have you verified everyone is pointing to the networked pnttempl folder? Sometimes at the time of upgrade install if the network drive is unavailable, you'll have to point to a local pnttempl folder to finish the upgrade.

Hello,

I'm having a similiar problem with Shared Print Groups.  These 4 files do live in the PNTTMPL folder on a network drive.  Our users either look at this drive or to their local C: drive.  Those that look at C: download a copy of the network folder so they are as up to date as their last download.

The 4 files that are shared in this folder are:

BRWPG
COBRWPG
COPRSPG
PRSPG

The contents of BRWPG seems to be blank every morning.  I'm currenlty copying from the COBRWPG file to update.

Has this issue been identified to a backup process, or with someone with an older Calyx version logging in?

Everyone has rights to this folder.

Thank you,
