| | Somehow, between last Friday and today, all of our custom forms have changed from .doc files to .pcd files (looks like Windows wants to open them with MS Picture It!)! We have no idea how this happened! My (very unlikely) theory is that it might have something to do with our server. We changed from a peer-to-peer setup to a Windows 2000 Server based setup about 4-5 months ago. I haven't had a chance to load any MS Office programs onto the server yet, but everyone opens everything with the software they already have on their harddrives, so it hasn't been a problem. Still, I don't understand why this would come up now, so that's why I wonder if it has anything to do with the server at all. Anybody have any ideas on how to convert these files back to Word documents? It seems like it should be simple, but I can't seem to make it work. Thanks! |

| The custom forms were never .doc. Points custom form extention is pcd. You should not open these files outside of Point.

| | I can't believe I missed that. I promise I'm not normally a computer idiot. All this started earlier when we tried to print a custom form and got a message that it was locked for editing by somebody. So I started snooping around and saw the whole .pcd thing and jumped to conclusions. Sorry for the clueless post! |
