| Hi,
Our standard naming includes year, month, loan number in the sequence received, last name.
Example: Mr. Smith's loan was entered in July 2006 and it's the 30th loan of the month.
the file name would be:
20060730_Smith
Could Point do something like that, where it takes the borrower's last name and uses it in autosave?

| | Not to hi-jack your thread, but what do you do if there were 2 Smith applications on the same day? Does it do Smith2? I'm curious because I'm always looking for a more efficient organizational method. |

| I am curious why is the file name important? Is it just to make it easier to find in the Point file search?

| Hi,
If there are two borrowers with the same last name their files still have a different sequence number.
Like:
20060715_Smith and 20060720_Smith. If for some reason you create a copy of the same file, you asppend it with "_2" or "_3" it would look like: "20060715_Smith_2"

| Hi,
Maybe I'm just picky about the file name, but I feel the need to have standards when naming files. The standard that I created involves using the last name.
The file names help when exporting data, which we have to do as part of our funding process. While working on the loan it's easier to identify "20060780_Smith" than just "20060780."
