Where do I find instructions on how to migrate my Access Cardex to PDS?

I have opened the old Access database directly and exported the contents to PointCardex.xml in the appropriate PDS directory.  I have created a Cardex in PDS Administrator.  I have imported from the xml to the new PDS Cardex.

Point 5.3 is not seeing the PDS 5.3 Cardex data.  What do I troubleshoot next?

We attempted to upgrade PDS from 5.1 to 5.3 tonight. We ended in a fatal error from which we cannot recover. The PDS technicians are aware of this error and yet left customers on the phone holding and abandoned their posts.

Our company is now crippled and tomorrow is Friday - our heaviest closings for the week. We are desparate and there is no assistance available.

Did you assign group or user access rights to the Cardex Database?

When you launch the Cardex from Point, did you click Search to locate records? When a Point client is connected to PDS, the search setting for Cardex Default Search is set to off. You can set it to search for all records, but this may consume more bandwidth as it's querying the SQL database everytime it launches.

When Cardex appears on the Point client does it have [PDS] in the window title bar?

See section 4. Importing a Cardex Database in the online PDS User Manual Q10849 - INFO: (v5.3) Chapter 20 - Importing Resources . It explains the steps to import conventional Cardex into PDS.

Please clarify what you mean by "Access database directly?"

Did you use access to open it?

The Cardex has to be exported using the "File > Export to Calyx PDS" in the Cardex Database utility for import to PDS. Please see section 4. Importing a Cardex Database in the online PDS User Manual Q10849 - INFO: (v5.3) Chapter 20 - Importing Resources . It goes over all the steps to import the Cardex with screenshots.
