| | I have the same problem with one of my clients. It looks like the index file is being updated, but not for all of the Loan Officers. We are still able to do an advanced search and find the files, but that takes considerably longer (some folders can take a minute, maybe two. Not to mention it affects server performance). I know when the file is imported into Point, and it does NOT appear to be a race condition. Is Calyx aware of the problem? Does anyone know when an update/fix will be available? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

| | After speaking with Calyx, it seems that they are aware of the problem, and hopefully are working on a fix. In the meantime, is there a way to automatically reindex the folders? We would like it to be a process that runs at night so that we don't have to reindex the folders manually. |

| how are you running import.exe? does it run on a computer with point 5.1? when you say the index is updated but not for all loan officers what do you mean? do they all use one data folder or do they each have their own? if it works on one but not the others who is using extended search and who is not?

| | how are you running import.exe? We are running import.exe from C# .Net. The application runs on the same server as Point and the data folders. does it run on a computer with point 5.1? Yes, Point 5.1 is installed on the server. The OS is Windows SBS 2003. when you say the index is updated but not for all loan officers what do you mean? It's not that the index is being updated for some loan officers and not other. It's a problem occuring for ALL loan officers SOME of the time. I have not been able to find out any consistencies yet. do they all use one data folder or do they each have their own? They all have access to the same folders, residing on the server. It's not LO specific. if it works on one but not the others who is using extended search and who is not? As stated above, it is not a case of it occuring to some LO's and not others. I have verified that ALL Loan Officers are using the extended search options on all data folders. |

| My guess would be that sometimes when you call import.exe some one else is accessing the index file/ saving a file or rebuilding it. typicaly do you call import during the day when users are working with point or do you batch the jobs to off hours?

| | That's an interesting point. I thought maybe it could have been a race condition at first (2 LO's exporting), but there are no instances of a 2 files being imported into Point at the same time. The import.exe is called immediately - the files are not batched for later. It's actually pretty critical that the files go in immediately so that they are able to use Point to pull credit, have access to the 1003, etc. I know for a fact that the rebuild list is not called until the night time - after business hours. However, it could be the case that an LO is searching with the index at the same time another LO is calling the import executable. Would the index actually not update if that were the case? It used to work in 5.0 and earlier versions, and that was using a file. 5.1 is using MySQL Lite (according to these forums) which *should* be a lot safer, but maybe there was no support built in for locking. |
