Hi,  One of my originators is receiving this error message when trying to email a data file:

PCF

"The attachment containing data file could not be created"

We're using Outlook 2003, XP Pro SP2, and Point 5.2.  Noone else is having the problem.

Thanks

The error means that Point was unable to create a temporary file is created in \Winpoint\Work when e-mailing PCF files.

1) make sure the user actually has a \Winpoint\Work folder.
2) make sure the user has permissions to write and delete files from the Work folder. You can do a quick test by manually creating a text file in Winpoint\Work, then deleting the file.

Yes, the user has a winpoint\work folder.   Also can create and delete a txt file.

What happens if you save the pcf file locally by clicking "Save as PCF" on the email Point Data File dialog box instead of clicking send?

Had this problem with a user today. Error message comes up with both "Sent to" and "Save as PCF"

The solution above worked!

Thanks
