| | I have installed 5.2 and it is still forcing me to use a password when emailing files and/or forms. I thought this was supposed to be optional again in 5.2. |

| In version 5.2, the password is optional for emailing the PDF forms only. For e-mailing the Point PCF files you still need a password. I don't think this is going to change. Why would you want to send unencrypted Point prospect/borrower files over e-mail? Unlike PDF forms that can be easily cracked with a password hack program, encrypted PCF files have a complex compression algorithm, and 256-bit data encryption. I just don't get why you want to put your borrower's data at risk by sending their information through an already insecure medium like e-mail. PDF forms, I can understand, because they don't always contain borrower information. But a Point borrower/prospect file always contains an SSN, some income, addresses and phones. Why would you do it?!

| | While I understand the need for the password and certainly approve of it myself... my Loan Officers and processors hate it... |

| | We email our files internally - they NEVER leave our network. Therefore, Mr. "why would you do it" we have no need to password protect the whole file. Only forms leave our network. We DO password protect them. Another problem - we cannot get the .pcf into Point now. When we double-click it we get the message "An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will shut down immediately. Unable to load file 'PDD'." |

| Thanks for your feedback. I'm trying to understand the reasons you would have for e-mailing the files in this way. When you say it doesn't leave your internal network, are you meaning that you have your own internal company e-mail server?

| | To fix your problem go to start click run and paste the following line. C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\gen.exe /delete and pcf.exe will work for you. I am Sorry could you describe your company set up, why are you emailing files to each other rather then having the data shared?

| I too wonder about your internal e-mail setup. Do you have your e-mail setup so that it's only internal and that users can't e-mail anything to the outside?
I say this as "one who is susupposed to know better": I have twice e-mailed documents for the internal Ry |
