I'm sure the answer is somewhere, I just can't find it.  I have updated my cardex, but the info is not shared with my other computer.  Do I need to update info or add entries from the computer with the admin file on it?  File info and templates seem to work just fine.  Please tell me what steps I may be missing to share the info.

Thanks!

Which version of Point are you using?

You should be able to check this by clicking on the start button, program files, calyx software point admin.  In point administrator click change template directory. Make sure this is the same shared directory on all computers.

BetaFisch's approach works great if you are OK with everyone using the same templates folder (which is usually the case). If you are one of those companies that wants individualized custom forms for each user (or other custom stuff), this either complicates it or makes it impossible.

If you just want to share the Cardex info, you can set up a separate templates folder for each user (automatic when you install Point) then have a "master" cardex on the server. You then use a synchronization method to keep everyone in sync. You can use Windows' Briefcase (set it up on each computer) or some other form of synchronization. If you use Briefcase, it will want to upgrade the Cardex database. I have experienced problems using updated versions but haven't gotten to the bottom of it. So ... make sure you back everything up before you attempt this method.

I am also writing a simple sync program to accomplish the same thing. I'll post it here when I get it finished.
