| I have a custom screen populated with custom fields (IDs in the 205xx range) which are necessary for internal tracking. All of these fields are dates. When I create a report using these fields they are treated as numeric, causing the format column in the report editor to only have numeric formatting options. This is a problem as we export the report data to XML for processing.
What is the work around for this? Will this be corrected in 5.1?

| | If I understand your problem correctly, you are creating a custom report with custom fields using the 205xx range. The format column is only showing numeric formatting options. Right? Here is the solution to the problem: The 205xx range of field ID's are not the "real" field ID's for the custom screens. Go to Utilities > Load Field ID > Borrower. Click Forms > Custom Screens/Fields > [your_custom_screen]. You should now see the field ID's starting with 9900 at the top. Input the 9900+ series field ID's in your report template editor, instead of the 205xx series. You should now see the correct formatting option under the Format column. Custom Screen 1: field ID's 9900 - 9924 Custom Screen 2: field ID's 9925 - 9949 Custom Screen 3: field ID's 9950 - 9974 Custom Screen 4: field ID's 9975 - 9999 I hope this helps.

| Just as a side note any field id in the 20,000 range cannot be exported, imported or used in a report. they do not contain data just display it when the file is open. If you run across a field that shows this value make sure you use Utilities->Load field id->borrower or prospect so that you can find the real id for what you are looking for.

| | As a further note, there are many fields in Point that are not documented completely in the fieldid.xls. One of the best ways to make sure you are using the correct field (and using it in the correct way) is to do a file compare. 1. Create an empty Point file and name it test1 2. Change the field in question and save it as test2 3. Do a differential compare on the two files There is a utility shipped with Point in the program directory called datacompare.exe. You can set up templates and make differential comparisons. This program is a little difficult to use. There is another program at www.mtig.biz/pointview.exe that is easier (and free). It's not a work of art but it's functional.
