I noticed recently that the Rebuild List functions in Point seem to be extremely slow in the newer versions. Has anyone else noticed this? I also have a copy of 6.2 on a test box, andit runs very fast on that version. Thanks

7.4SP6 > 3 hours rebuilding 7000 files.

6.2 > less them 5 minutes on the same set.

Rebuilding the list and generating reports are slower.

How slow are we talking about here?

Is it counting 10 files every 10 seconds or counting 10 files every 30 seconds?

7.4SP6 > 3 hours rebuilding 7000 files.

6.2 > less them 5 minutes on the same set.


seconds per file, where as it previously would speed thru the index routine many files per second
