We've been using a network template folder since 4.3, and never had this issue before. We're currently running 5.1 in all offices. The file server runs Windows 2000 on a domain; the end user workstations are all XP Pro and joined to the domain. We utilize the network install from the server to load the app onto the user's machine.

This problem is specific to just one user, and has cropped up twice now. The only solution I've found thus far was to blow away her user profile and create anew.

When printing/emailing her custom forms, they will be populated by another (wrong) loan file's borrower data (name, address, etc). Once it happens on one file, any subsequent attempt to print/email any other files yields the same problem. It only happens in her custom forms - she can print Point forms without problem. I tried removing/clean reinstalling Point and I cleaned her IE cache and Temp folders - no improvement. The only thing that solved the problem was to delete and recreate her profile on that machine.

Anyone run into this? Anyone have any less drastic solutions to fixing it?

Check her \winpoint\work folder. It seems like some of the temp files created by custom forms are read-only or she doesn't have permissions to overwrite them.  Does she share this machine with other users in the office on a domain? Any files created in the Work folder by other users may prevent the next user from overwriting those files.  The solution to this should be to give "Full Control" to "Everyone" on the Work folder.

I'd like to revive this thread as I am experiencing the same problem with just a few small differences.  We are running 5.3 in all offices and the file server is on Windows server 03.  All end workstations are xp pro and joined to the domain.

The problem is exactly the same, where some users custom form is populated with wrong borrower data.  After reading this thread, I did some testing and here is what I found.

When the employee logged into Windows on ANY machine in our office, she would get incorrect data to populate.  When I logged into ANY windows machine, I got the correct information to populate.  However, AFTER I logged into a machine and got the correct data for a given file to populate, if the employee logged in AFTER ME, the erroneous data that populated would CHANGE to data from the same file that I was just testing.

The active directory settings for this employee are the same as for other employees that do not have this problem.

Any ideas as to what to do next?

that user may not have write access to the winpoint/work directory.  It sounds like this directory may not be on a local drive which would be a very bad thing.

When I deleted the contents of the winpoint/work folder on the local machines, all was well again...for now.  At least we have an understanding of how this problem came to be.
