Normal.dot Error

User has Word open - he uses it to spell check during the day. When he tries to print custom forms groups he gets the attached error. If he closes his blank Word doc and tries to print again it works.

Any ideas?

Date Formula in Word

I'm trying to format the date in Word for some of our custom docs to be spelled out. I can't figure out how to do it. Is there anyone that can help me?

Worst Case Payment and Rate

Is there a field ID I can reference for the worst case payment and worst case rate? I can use Word's math functions to add the note rate and life cap if I have to, but it would be easier to reference the actual field if there is one. To clarify, this is not the same as the max rate the TIL calculates, which is based on the current index and margin.

Customer Underwriting Approval

We underwrite all of our loans and I love the new underwriting screens. My only question: is there a way to change the calyx underwriting approval to a customer doc? And are there plans to expand the delivery to print and save vs. just e-mail?

Field 1508

What's the deal with 1508 - it use to be in use for Loan Rep but no longer is?

If that's the case, why does the custom form editor still choose it for "Loan Representative"? i.e. when I edit a template, choose Loan Representative from the dropdown, and click Insert, it's still trying to use 1508.

I know I can manually use field 19 (and I am) but I wanted to figure out what was actually happening. Is it just my install that is doing that or was that change just overlooked?

YSP and Origniation Calc in 7.1

I am creating a custom form to handle doc requests to one of our lenders. When I use the Rate and Lock screen to put in the YSP it will only use the Base loan amount which is fine for CONV loans, but it needs to be the Total Loan amount (base + MIP or FF) for FHA and VA loans. Also, when loan type VA is Seleted the Origination amount on the GFE is suddenly based on the Total loan amount, not the Base.

Windows Update KB973904

The following windows update, [url=http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS09-073.mspx]KB973904[/url], is breaking our users' ability to edit custom forms within Point. So far it seems to only be affecting one user, but I am assuming that is because nobody else has installed the update yet (or has needed to edit a form). When trying to access a custom form, we were receiving the error "autoword cannot start the convertor mswrd632." Uninstalling this update solved our issue immediately.

I tried 1st solution of changing the registry key, but that didn't help.

Is Calyx planning on releasing a patch to fix this issue? I really don't want to have to block this update across our organization, especially since we are not running active directory and will have to do so manually.

Combined Lock request

I posted this in Forms/Regulations 11/19/09. No answer, so I thought I would cut/paste it into THIS section to see if I can get an answer.

Has POINT come up with a COMBINED lock request form (Like the combined Transmittal) that will pull information for ALL borrowers onto the lock request form? There are also several additional fields we would like to see added to the form, not only because our investors are requiring more and more information when we lock, but also so that our lock desk can see right away where they CAN'T lock it for some reason (manufactured housing being one of the biggies). I created a copy of the canned Sample form, and modified it myself, but I still can't get unmarried borrower info to pull. The items in red are ones I can't get to come thru. The others are ones I added myself.

1. Income fields for all borrowers on the loan, including any co-borrs

2. SSN info for co-borrs

3. Number of units

4. Manufactured home check box under Property Type

5. Origination fee, discount points, referral source (these are for internal use)

6. Source of subordinate financing, amt of subordinate financing

7. $ amt of Cash out

8. Check box for local HFA under Loan Type

9. AUS Engine and AUS findings

P&I Payment Field ID

P&I is a calculated field and I am having trouble identifying the field ID. It doesn't display the ID when I try to select the field that shows P&I.

Any ideas on what the Field ID is?

Weird template issue - Loan Programs listed don't match the template (brand new file)

I'm testing out several different template groups I've created and am stymied by one problem. My "Loan Program" template is different than what appears when I log out/in, start a new file, and click the Loan Program button. What shows up is the old info...not sure how to update it. Other templates (borrower master, closing costs, etc) all work fine.

Cardex fields in custom forms

I am sure this is easy for most of you. I am new to Calyx. I have investors setup in Cardex. Only thing I can get is the Company name and loan number from the Banker: Secondary Market Reg and Lock page.

Custom Word Doc Issue - Blank Page at the end

I have a custom Word doc that is not working properly for some reason. When I print preview with data, it shows that it is 7 pages and the last page is blank. When I open/edit the doc in Templates, it show that it is only 6 pages (does not have the blank page at the end).

Any ideas?

Point field format in Word

I am trying to put the Origination Fee and Discount Points into a form and have it print zeros if there are none.

Even if I enter 0% and 0$ on the GFE, the dollar amount field is left blank by point and then lands on my form blank.

I'd like that to show 0.00 - (keeps my regulators happy too).

It looks to me like Point is pushing an alpha field into Word and I don't know how to change its decimal formatting.

Version 7 Printing to PDF creates "secured" PDF files

Hi everyone, we're running version 7 SP1 and are having an issue printing the custom forms using the Print to PDF feature. Even though we chose not to password protect the file, the PDF file that gets created says (SECURED) when opened in Acrobat.

Any attempt to edit the PDF file (Using Acrobat 9 Standard edition) is met with a password request. Keep in mind, we created the file without password protection.

When we did a test where we chose to password protect the file, the resulting PDF would request the password to edit it, but the password kept being rejected. We've double and triple checked the password to make sure it was being entered correctly.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Adding a Graphic (Company Logo) causes an error

I have been updating our custom forms using Word 2007 for all the disclosures we send to our clients. The problem I'm having is when I add our company logo to show up in the header of our custom form documents, I get an error in Word when you open the form in a borrower file to have the info merge into the document. When I remove the graphic everything works fine. I have tried different graphic formats, GIF, TIFF, JPEG, JPEG2000 and the same problem occurs. I can still modify the custom form under the templates tab and the graphic displays correctly and the form saves correctly. It only occurs when you open the form under print preview inside a borrowers file.

Any suggestions?

Eliminating a blank line during a merge

City, ST Zip

If Fname2 and Lname2 are blank in the Point file is there a way to eliminate the blank line during the merge?

Custom forms and PDF files

Sometimes, as a mortgage broker, we have to use specific lender docs/forms. They usually only provide these as a pdf file. Currently I copy the pdf file into word then have to reformat the whole thing then import to point. Why does point only recognize word files? Can this be changed so that you can import pdf files?

TIL disclosure statement modification

My Compliance Officer brought this to me and asked if we could get Calyx to change this. I've emailed support@calyxsoftware.com, but I haven't had good luck with them responding in a timely manner, so I thought I would post it on here and see if I get a faster response.
So, this is what he says:
"In the TIL Disclosure Statement, the second sentence above the signature lines which reads, “You are not required to complete this agreement…” is supposed to be in the Fed box (or segregated in another way). See commentary 226.19(a)(4) and 226.17(a)(1)-2 for the rules."
So can anyone tell me whether this is something that I can modify myself or whether Calyx should/could modify??

is there a solution to "clean" the word doc before I import it? I really don't want to try to recreate the entire document...

_my scenario_________________________________

I have created a custom screen inside Point (it has 25 fields per screen allowable in the software)

And, I have identified the 'field ID' for the drop down list I have created on my c'ustom screen'.

* the issue is I cannot get the information from the specified 'Field ID' (aka my drop down list on the custom screen) to actually PRINT on the 'custom form'...

FYI I'm targeting 'Field ID' 25024 (this is the 25th user input slot on 'custom screen' number 1)

ANY HELP here would be appreciated!

basically, I believe outlook and point both use WORD as their editor. SO, if I have an email open and I try to edit a custom word doc in calyx, or try to print a custom word doc inCalyx...

I get the dreaded "something like" the normal global file already exists, do you want to overwrite it? of cours if you answer 'yes'...the CPU responses and says "this is a write only file, it cannot be overridden (DUD... if you knoe that upfront why did you ask the user if they wanted to click yes?)

then of course your only option left is NO -(logical right?) -well if you press no, that causes a series of approx 3 diffrent error boxes to have to be opened, closed, etc... huge pain in the dairyair!

so I KNOW how to search for all normal.dot files... delete them, etc... but how can I keep from having to do that every single day? the solution is worth it's weight in good loan files... all help is appreciated!

Custom forms location on PDS 7.0 & is it possible for more than 4

We would like to create a couple more custom screen and would like to get them backed up before we make the changes. I am unsure of where the location of the custom screens are located at in a PDS 7.0 server.

Also there was a limit of 4 custom screens on the old 6.2 software and was curious if that has changed within the PDS 7.0 software or if there are plans to increase that size down the road.

Where can I obtain the 'field id's' for the entire Truth in Lending? The loaded field id's under the utilities function only displays 9 sets of fields for No. of Pmts, Amount of Payments, and Payments Due. The actual form sucessfully prints many more sets for FHA loans, etc.. Where can I find those other id's?

Need help with a couple of math formulas'

Several lenders I work with require a Broker fee agreement to be signed by the customer. This form needs to have some totals that are not on the current Good Faith form so I need to figure 2 formulas.

The first formula is as follows:
Field 5355 plus Field 1023 plus field 1031.

The second Formula: Field 11867 plus field 5367

I don’t even know if this is possible but if it is can someone help me?

Custom Forms Not Printing

Since this morning I have had 4-6 users let me know that they are no longer able to print custom forms. They get the error I have attached. C:\DOCUME~1\EMTGEK7\LOCALS~1\Temp\tempsrc.dat.

It's affecting Word - and if they close Point they are still unable to print any other Word document unless they restart their computer. Once they try to do another custom form they are back in the same boat.

Any idea's? I'm racking my brain over here ... :w00t:

Putting Custom form onto another computer

I have some custom forms that I have created and have on my computer in Point. Another mortgage broker would like to use these same forms from his computer. How do I copy or get those custom forms to his computer. I can't seem to do save as when I have the form open. Please help.

Error W/ Print-Print Preview-Email

Good morning,

I get the error "Word could not finish merging these documents or inserting this database." when trying to print - print preview - or email some of my custom forms.

These are forms we have not edited in some time. When I open each custom form template and hit alt + f9 to view the code I can see the below line in each of the affected docs.

{DATA "C:\\WINPOINT\\WORK\\tmpFldNameSrc.doc"}

Furthermore, this line is always at the very top of the document.

Does anyone have the sligtest clue why this is happening? I am finishing testing our upgrade today in hopes of releasing tomorrow and have just run into this. I must now go through all of our 200+ custom forms and check each for this issue. So far I have found some with the issue and some without - there seems to be no rhyme or reason.

Print Preview

When Print Previewing a custom form it usually comes up and look just like Word (with all the toolbars and dropdown menus at the top. However some forms I've made only show the rulers on the top and left when I print preview. Does anyone know how I can get all forms to show all the Word functionality all the time?

I need to be able to print preview the form and then save it as a .doc instead of printing it.
