It was strange because, with the presence of Symantec, Point triggered the DEP, even when we turned it off altogether. I hate running without antivirus on a client computer but that's the way it has to be.

RE: Windows Vista Update

Hi Mike

You mentioned that removing antivirus/firewall allows Point to run. So It sounds like a Symantec Endpoint issue. Here's a KB article addressing it.
http://kb.calyxsupport.com/kb/article.php?id=593

Hope that helps.
RE: Windows Vista Update

It doesn't work when running as admin. It is a DEP issue and adding it to the allowed programs list does NOT fix the problem. In addition, turning off DEP altogether does not fix the issue. The only thing that allows 6.1a to run is to remove all anti-virus and firewall software.

Now Point won't completely uninstall so I have to uninstall by hand. Reinstallation terminates with error 1901.

RE: Windows Vista Update

Does it work if you run it as admin?

Windows Vista Update

A client just purchased a new laptop, installed Point 6.1a, then downloaded and installed Vista updates.
