Here is how I worked through it...

I restored the original Cardex file. Opened Point and exported the old database to comma-delimited format file. Closed Point. Renamed the original Pointcdx.mdb file, and copied your attachment and renamed per your instructions. Then, opened up Point, and Cardex. Used the File import and things work like a charm. Problem resolved.

Thanks for your help and quick responsiveness.

RE: Cardex Error Messages during Save

Well, I moved the old PointCDX.mdb file to the parent subdirectory, and copied and renamed the attachment from your post. Launched Point, opened Cardex - no records visible - and used the File Import function. Browsed to the new file, and then received the following:

Cardex Error: Object reference not set to instance of object.

?

RE: Cardex Error Messages during Save

take the attachment and rename it to pointcdx.mdb and put this in your cardex location, next run Point and open cardex use import to import your old cardex file.

RE: Cardex Error Messages during Save
BetaFisch (1/5/2006)
Have you ever opened this cardex in access?
is the cardex on a local or network drive?
I may have in the past. However, it is more than likely I would have copied the database and accessed the copy to avoid any possible Access-like tweaking (knowing how Access operates.) I am currently running Access 2000 on my computer, and may have only attempted to use it to generate a report.

The cardex database we are using is on the network.

RE: Cardex Error Messages during Save

Have you ever opened this cardex in access?
is the cardex on a local or network drive?

RE: Cardex Error Messages during Save
BetaFisch (1/5/2006)
is there any more data in the latter error?
Nope - that's it. Things seem to be running flawlessly. However, when I open an existing record in Cardex, make a modification and attempt to save, I get the message:

Cardex Error: No value given for one or more required parameters.

If I try to create a new cardex entry, after filling in all of the fields, and attempting to save and close, I get:

Cardex Error: Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement

Appreciate some help.
