I called Calyx Support and spoke with a PDS Support Tech. who advised that at this time there is no work around for this limit and suggested I post a comment on the message boards in hopes that the developers will provide either unlimited records to be returned or (which is my preference) the ability to set the maximum number of search entries returned.

Please advise if this issue will be addressed in a new release of either Point or PDS?

Thanks!

Troy D. If we have a backup prior to the upgrade, would there be a way to restore, just the categories?

Also, unrelated to cardex - our Title insurance charges blanked out on the 5.4 upgrade (i believe stored in title.ini), and some of our reports dropped off the reports database. We have a good backup on the reports, and can easily restore, but wanted to report and see if there was any known reason for this behavior. It seems all title.ini files were cleared during upgrade.

Thank you,

Cardex 5.3 write/save errors

Hi,

I followed the instructions to fix the Cardex error after upgrading to 5.3 as explained here:

0234 Error: Cardex Error Getting Next Record Id...Data type mismatch in criteria expression...

I deleted the offending row but I still receive the error> I also receive the

0234 Error: Cardex Error Getting Next Record Id...Data type mismatch in criteria expression...

Followed those instructions but again I have the error. In fact we currently have over 6500 records. I received a few reports this morning saying that Cardex wasn't working. When I checked it out for myself I found that when I tried to open the database from within point I received an error message stating, "Index was outside the bounds of the array." I opened the backend in access and performed a repair/compact but that didn't solve the problem. I scanned through the records looking for anything out of ordinary that might indicate corruption, but everything looked normal. Anyone know what could be causing this? I am going to restore the database with my most recently functioning backup for now, but I don't want this to happen again. Is there some precoded size limit to the database? The error almost sounds like someone used a static array when they were programming the cardex viewer in point and it can't index more than a certain number of records because the number of elements in the array needs to be increased. Luckily I backup cardex every 15 minutes! :P
Tim

Cardex Migration from Access to PDS 5.3

Where do I find instructions on how to migrate my Access Cardex to PDS?

I have opened the old Access database directly and exported the contents to PointCardex.xml in the appropriate PDS directory.
