Pop-up Links for Loan Amount, Income, GFE

In this ever changing market guidelines are constantly changing. It would really help if when we clicked on the "loan amount" it would give loan limits OR provide a link to the appropriate website to get current information (i.e., FHA Connection). Some kind of interlinkage with the government websites would help out a lot.

Maybe we could even make the pop-ups customizable so we can make changes as they come up instead of waiting for new version releases. This would also allow us to make notes to ourselves about the closing costs - as far as what the seller is allowed to pay for. Notes on the income would really help as well. Just in case we forget "is it two or three", "what schedule is this found on again?", etc.

This would really turn POINT into a processing traiing tool, which I don't know if you guys are really comfortable going that route.

Let me know if this is even a possibility.

config setting to limit save location

Anyone know any tricks I can set to limit the user the ability to save to the local drive and uncheck the auto number save when they click the save. The box pops up and allows the user the option to brows to another location and or uncheck the auto save check box?? The users are connecting to our PDS server and I need them to save the data to the server.

Stop the auto population of the date of Application on Page 4 of App.

It would be beneficial to institutions if the date of Application was a configurable field. In some cases this date is incorrect and it would help eliminate errors if it were configurable to auto populate fields such as these.

Multiple Language Support

I use Asian characters on my computers for business and personal. And everytime when I try to pull credit using Point (FYI, we use Landsafe Credit), it gives me error messages. The only way to pull credit (and because I do have to use korean on my computer) is if I change the language version of the non-unicode programs back to english by "Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Advanced -> English" and then restart. I am pretty sure it is a lot harder than it sounds but is there any way to use korean and pull credit at the same time?

Point 6.0B Reports Templates and Reports

Conditions: Status "not equal to" Empty, CLOS, CANC

Lock Expiration: "equal to" F7:

In version 5.4A conditions worked.

Upgraded to version 6.0B, conditions are ignored. Yes, tried "# of day" condition (didn't work either)

Also in version 6.0B it is required to select current status each time the report is run, this was not a requirement in version 5.4A.

Am now logging onto another workstation that is running version 5.4A to run accurate reports.

Pretty sad bit of development when a client has to do this to get accurate reporting functionality

Please correct the reporting functionality.

Logging ability

I would love to see the ability for PDS to enable a logging of user actions, delete and edit are the most important, but create and move would be nice as well.

It may not be feasable for PDS to log the changes that were made, but I would have to add that to the list as well.

I realize that this might slow down the process of checking the files in and out, but for us it would be well worth the delay in order to have tighter control on the user base.

Administration Functionality

It would be nice to be able to have multiple admins in order to better support a large user base.

I would like to see the following:

Single overall admin for changing all of the items currently available in the admin website. I understand that the importing and administration of folders is pretty much limited to one admin at a time, so this admin would be limited to one session at a time.

Seperate multiple admins for minor things like changing passwords, unlocking accounts, creating users, adding users to groups, adding or changing security rights on groups, etc.

Regular user report access

I have set up different user security levels as I suspect most companies do. Many of my loan officers have requested the ability to create reports or run existing ones, but in order to grant them access to that area, that would mean I would also have to grant them permission to all other areas such as deleting and moving files, etc. Can someone at PDS please consider providing some flexibility in later versions so that I can allow my employees to access reporting functions? I'm amazed that no customers have requested this before. It would be helpful for loan officers to be able to analyze past business which could ultimately generate new business for my company.

Password protect or encrypt Point Admin PDS settings

I would like to request either password protect the Point Administrator program or at least the PDS Settings section of the Admin program by encryption or astricks out the server web address and key information. Regular users should not see this information - it is primarily for administrators.

Cardex access rights

Currently any Point user can read, edit, delete, import and export any munber of Cardex database records.

Is there any need to limit access rights to Cardex for different Point users?

For example, restricting access by:

read access
edit access
delete access
delete of more than some number of records
import
import of more than some number of records
export
export of more than some number of records

If any of these access limits are useful for any reason, please respond by specifying which type of restriction and why the restriction is useful. Illustrate with use cases if possible. If such restrictions are not useful, feel free to respond with that also. Thank you.

Create an SQL discussion group

It would be nice to have a SQL discussion group seperate from the main PDS discussion group. I'd seperate them so that people who are not familiar with SQL don't have to wade through the technical SQL discussions.

Just a thought.

Data Folders, Groups and users with rights assigned

This would help with large directory structures and large number of users.

Auto File Name Using Borrower Last Name

Hi,

Our standard naming includes year, month, loan number in the sequence received, last name.
Example: Mr. Smith's loan was entered in July 2006 and it's the 30th loan of the month.

the file name would be:

20060730_Smith

Could Point do something like that, where it takes the borrower's last name and uses it in autosave?

Allow Users Access to Templates, but not to Secured Area

Please enable access to shared templates without having to open up the Secured Area.
The shared templates feature is great, but the only way to use it is to allow users access to the Managers, area, the Company Defaults, etc.

Disable login feature for PDS

A function to disable all logins except the admin for all or selected data folders would be pretty handy. An option to log a user off would be useful as well.

Writing back to .BRW files via PDS Service

One step I feel was missing, which cost me time, was to delete the admin and service virtual directories from under Default Web Page in IIS on the PDS. Once I installed PDS 5.1, I was unable to open the admin and service pages. I found a blurb under Appendix C (I think, the one about IIS), which said if you already have virtual directories called admin and service, you will need to delete them and re-install PDS.

Why require SA password to verify SQL Database?

If we have granted the PDSclient user DBO rights to the database already, why do we have to have the SA password verify the database. This does not seem logical to me.
