Which, in theory, is a good idea. Problem we are having is that we don't want to tell the borrower that the rate is available until the expiration date, because it's not. Most of our investors require that the loan is delivered to them by the expiration date, meaning that a refinance has to close about 5 days before expiration in order to deliver it in time. Our policy in completing the GFE has been to use lock period/expiration minus 5 on all dates and lock terms. This then changes the lock page to reflect that. Obviously, we can tell our staff just to know that every lock has 5 extra days to deliver, but it would be nicer if it just didn't feed back.

I realize that this kind of change may not be possible, since other people may be using it successfully. I thought I'd just throw this out there is case anyone else has the same sort of policies.

Pull down lists and mouse functionality

Currently if you are in a pull down list on a page and then use your mouse scroll button to navigate up or down on the page, the scroll button scrolls through the drop down list instead and ends up changing what was originally in the field.

This is very annoying and should be changed.

AUTO FILL

Is an 'AutoFill' anywhere in the future for Calyx?

It would be nice for the program to recognize what you are typing

and fill in the rest.

Going back and forth to the cardex is quite arduous.

Thanks

Cutting down on data reentry on page 3 of 1003

Being able to match properties to mortgages was a nice addition recently.
It would be great to be able to have loan balances and payments auto fill the Sched of REO automatically too. Everywhere else in the file the Mortgage Insurance button references up front MIP/FF. There needs to be some sort of way to differentiate what is up front MIP and what is a Funding Fee. On the 2010 GFE the field in box 3 is hardcoded as Up-Front Mortgage Insurance - which our investors won't accept since RD loans do not have ufmip - just a funding fee. The work around we have been doing creates all sort of problems, because we have to manually type in the field in the 2010 GFE and delete the funding fee in the file - which screws up TILA requirements, etc... since it is a financed charge. Other ideas, or any help would be great.

High Price Mortgage (HPML)

Is there going to be an update soon to address the High Cost Loan regulation coming out on October 1st? This means that Microsoft will no longer provide security patches for this software.

This presents a problem for our office as that will require us to upgrade all of our computers running Point to a later version of Office to continue to use Custom Forms effectively. This is quite a large expense for us to undertake at a time when we are struggling to make money.

It has been suggested by Bryan Telford in another thread that the custom form data can be exported to OpenOffice, integrated into the document, then printed from OpenOffice. I've requested that documentation be provided to explain the process. For many users knowing the workaround will be sufficient to continue to work effectively.

However, for obvious reasons, it would be much more helpful for Point to have the seamless integration with OpenOffice that it has with Microsoft Office. In fact, the only reason that our office needs to use Microsoft Office at all is because of Point.

Integration with OpenOffice needs to be made a priority for inclusion in new versions of Point.
Title company interface for commitments

Utilizing current interface capabilities with settlement providers, would it be possible to have an interface with a title company in which a user could order the commitment through Point and once completed, retrieve it through Point via the title company's website?

This would save steps in having to go to the title company's website, download the commitment to the user's computer, then upload it as an edoc. There is a problem with the existing subordinate financing payment not showing up on the 1008 that has not been resolved over the span of several versions of Point.

The only option to produce an accurate 1008 is to mark the subordinate financing as new, which will produce inaccurate figures in the Transactions area. Having common loan data such as loan amount, interest rate, appraised value, property address, origination fee, underwriting fee, recording fee, attorney fees, real estate taxes, etc (there are too many to detail here) update on both applications when changed on one would definitely help preserve what little sanity I have. There are some bits of information that are 'loan level' and will be the same on all applications no matter how many borrowers or applications apply. Insuring that this data is consistent on all applications pertinent to the loan can be overwhelming when it changes during the processing of the file.
I submit this request to the software developers and offer assistance in identifying which data items are 'loan level' vs 'borrower specific'.

I've reviewed this with our processing manager and she agrees. Often when a file arrives for processing, there is conflicting information on the separate applications, requiring a conference with the loan officer to determine which information applies.

Loss of fields when upgrading to new Versions

I've posted a bit about this in another thread, but my suggestion is to make a list available of any fields lost in a version upgrade so we can make adjustments PRIOR to going live with a version to the masses.

Thus far, I've already had to re-write 8 reports and adjust 3 PointCentral rules all because I wasn't made aware that fields were arbitrarily removed. Redoing the reports and rules aren't the problem, it's the fact that it takes something that doesn't need to be a rush or emergency and makes it such.

Therefore, my request / suggestion would be to supply a punch list of sorts of removed fields when a new version is shipped so Admins can update reports and Rules BEFORE upgrading the masses and having our phones/email blow up with stuck end users who can't save files, etc.

Also, keeping the FieldID.xls file up to date with inactive or unsupported fields would be nice too. I'd like to suggest an option to display borrower names instead of filenames for that list.

Document Storage suggestion

MAKE IT OPEN TO A NEW WINDOW OUTSIDE OF POINT!!!!

Ok, caffiene rush this morning not withstanding, it would realllllllly be nice to make it to where the Document Storage window could be opened to a new window vs. a window inside of Point. The way it's currently coded, we can't have a document open and then type within Point. You have to close the Document Storage window completely before you can type in Point.

Just a suggestion.

Active Directory Integration

Using point administrator is very cumbersome when managing large numbers of Data Folders in a large corporation.

My first Suggestion/Wish is that Calyx Point can integrate itself with Windows Active Directory to use established Windows user accounts and groups instead of creating a new user account for each data folder a user needs access to. We have already seen improvements in the last releases of Point where unavailable point folders simply do not appear in the dropdown list. This made it possible to have a global winpoint.ini file copied to all user profiles and restrict access to what folders are available to each user through windows permissions. This removed the nightmare of creating custom winpoint.ini files for different branches, job positions, management, ect...

The ultimate structure would be similar to an Exchange Public folder permission structure where there could be owner, publisher, editor, contributor, reader, ect... This would allow you to simply create groups in AD and assign them to users or even to other groups.

I visualize a new Point Administrator that uses active directory for usernames and groups and assigns them to datafolders listed in the new Point Administrator. A database backend would be an added plus. The new Point Administrator could sweep several network locations and add all discovered point folders to a list. Then reports could be ran on user access permissions, last access, autofile naming settings, duplicate files..... I could go on and on. I mean gosh, could you even have the new Point Admin automatically populate the Loan Rep and Processor dropdown list by their group membership. HMMMM... the possibilities are really endless.

Or..... upgrade Calyx Point security with the addition of groups and roles.

Here is the main problem. One of the companies that I consult for has over 50 branches. Every time one of the Corporate Processors leaves, someone has to go into every single data folder security and remove the old processor and add the new one. This is true for upper management changes and compliance.... and so forth. This is truly an administrative nightmare.

A secondary problem is for Loan Processor or Processing assistants. If an LO has an assistant, that user has to log in as the Loan Officer to view the Loan Officer's files since we only allow the loan officers to see their own files in each data folder. In a world of many usernames and passwords, this only adds confussion and frustration to the users.

In recap, add security groups (please, please, please!) and add an assistant or other method of allowing assistants to view their mentors files.

Separate Out Copy, Move Functions from Secured Area

We have a problem, We must allow our LO's to move and copy files, but do not want them to have access to "Secured Areas". Just this Friday, a LO went into Company Defaults and changed the setting from "manual" to "automatic".

This caused all documents at all branches to have the Corporate Address and Phone numbers AUTOMATICALLY populate on the Application documents. We have 14 branches, with only one address matches corporate.

Needless to say, we have been chasing this tail now all week, and probably all next month.

Please, separate Copy and Move rights out of Secured Area rights.

Thanks,

John Hoopes

Security Savings Bank
