Precious few of them have legal paper, and fewer still understand enough about computers to be able to print out the legal size documents on letter size.

This problem greatly reduces the usefulness of the e-mail as PDF option. Our current workaround - to print out the documents, then use our copier to scan them into PDF - wastes a lot of paper.

If we had the option to print documents all in one paper size, and be able to choose either letter or legal size, it would greatly simplify our workflow.

Matching liabilities and real estate owned

I work the IT side here, so I don't actually "use" Point, so I'm not sure if this makes sense as posted, but this was sent to me to see if there was any suggestion forum, and lo, there is.

When working with new functionality of “matching liabilities and real estate owned” the software should be able to pull the following two data items from the Liabilities section into the Real Estate Owned section on Page 3 of the Loan Application:

1) Balance from Liabilities section into Amt of Mtg in Real Estate Owned section

2) Mth Pmt from Liabilities section into Mtg Pmt of the Real Estate Owned section

Commission Tracking Tool

Has anyone found a way to easily track commissions?

Calyx Support Weekly Webinar

This seems really useful. (sorry but i came from using ellie mae's encompass which i am finding was much more user friendly)

there are a lot of little things that take time to type in when they could auto populate. this is a time waster and makes us not as efficient as could be.

just some thoughts that would make life a little easier.

Mortgage Insurance - more space to see what is in the dropdown

My request is that when you click on the mortgage insurance tab, that the dropdown shows more of the description instead of having to use the arrow keys to scroll through the line. Quite often I need to do this 5 times in a row, as in copy 5 different fields.

The annoying part is that every time I "FOCUS" back into point page 3 pops up AT THE TOP of the page, not at the BOTTOM where I left it. Just a post to kinda bump or re-bring up some lingering issues from my vantage point. Not sure if other users have the same issues.

1. Security Interest on the TIL. It only makes sense for this section to auto-populate the "You are giving a security interest in:" field based on the subject property and the transation type (refinance to auto-fill "Real property you already own" and purchase to auto-fill "The good or property being purchased").

2. I want my "Active loans only" button back with the report writer. Having to check off 5 buttons vs. the one that we previously did makes no sense to me at all. In a thread at the time, BetaFisch stated "

If you want active files Its kind of a pain to set all the checks every time you run a report. The old check for active files was rather convenent.

" so I was hopeful that understanding would possibly lead to a return.

3. Property type consistency between the Transmittal and the Request for Appraisal form. For some reason these two data fields are separate when one should update the other.

4. The ability to add an Origination fee to a closing cost scenario. For some reason line 801, Origination Fee is grey'd out when working with a closing cost scenario. I've asked, for a couple of years now, to have that field opened up.

Chris

Make the forum work with Mozilla Firefox

The bulletin board "search" facility uses Internet Explorer proprietary code that doesn't work with Mozilla Firefox (my preferred browser)
Thanks
Jay

TIL Printing Issue 6.1a

I am on 6.1a and can print the TIL *BUT* the APR is not legible. For example, under the Calyx Point heading, the first forum is "Installation / Network Setup".

Within those Forums are individual threads.

Having been burned badly by major version upgrades with other software in the past, such as our prior LOS, Genesis 2000 version 12a which destroyed our Genesis software, I'm leary of major version upgrades such as the current one from version 5.x to version 6.0. Point has not burned me yet except for the minor burn with 5.0 and cardex.

However, I like to wait a month or so when there is a major version upgrade and monitor the forums for issues before I install it.

I've found several threads indicating issues with 6.0 or 6.0a, but they're scattered all over the forums, and I spent a lot of time tracking them down.

I'd like to suggest that under the headings Calyx Point, Point Data Server (PDS), and Web Caster, you add a Forum to each labeld "Version Upgrades" or "Upgrade Issues" or whatever you decide is the appropriate title for the new Forums.

Reasons:

It would make it easier for me and people like myself who want a little reassurance before upgrading to find those threads.

It would make it easier for people who are having issues with an upgrade to find existing threads that may have the same issue and might have a resolution. If there is no resolution, they could then add their reply to the existing thread, reducing duplicates on the same issue.

It would make it easier for Calyx to find and respond to those threads as well as track trends of problems.

Thanks,

Attach Files

Is there any thought to add the ability to attach files such as appriasals to Point files?

Debt Consolidation Worksheet

This compares a new loan without Taxes and Ins against a loan with PITI. Having common loan data such as loan amount, interest rate, appraised value, property address, origination fee, underwriting fee, recording fee, attorney fees, real estate taxes, etc (there are too many to detail here) update on both applications when changed on one would definitely help preserve what little sanity I have. There are some bits of information that are 'loan level' and will be the same on all applications no matter how many borrowers or applications apply. Insuring that this data is consistent on all applications pertinent to the loan can be overwhelming when it changes during the processing of the file.
I submit this request to the software developers and offer assistance in identifying which data items are 'loan level' vs 'borrower specific'.

I've reviewed this with our processing manager and she agrees. Often when a file arrives for processing, there is conflicting information on the separate applications, requiring a conference with the loan officer to determine which information applies.

Search by Field Number/Name

I'm searching for WHERE several fields are located, and which page they're on. Sometimes a LO will forget to enter an address, which effects several disclosures and the 1003 when they print without an address.

Thank you!

Conversation Log - Date

When using the "Contact Info" tab and entering comments (memo) into the contact info area that shows "Date" / "Time" / "Comment"... When the DONE button is selected it always uses the current date and time and transfer it into the Conversation Log instead of using the Date and Time of what is in the "Date" and "Time" field. Is this a problem that you can fix? I figure if it's left blank, then it can put the current date and time in, but when we have a date and time why doesn't it use what we have in there after we hit done?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Whither SDK?

Any word on the delivery of the long-promised SDK for Point?

I'm especially interested to know the features and pricing.

Ability to Reassign Loan Rep

I would like to see the ability to take 500 point files that have been assigned to a particulary loan rep in the the Loan Rep field of the information screen and be able to reassign all 500 files or even part of them to another Loan Rep.

Example: The Loan Rep field says Pam Smith she gets married and changes her name to Pam Taylor I need to be able to reassign her files to her new name.

Took me all day to do this last time someone changed their name.

Encompass can do this why can't Point?

State specific name/license

We do business in many states. Washington has changed how they want the loan officer's name to appear. It now needs to include their license number immediately after their name on every page that the loan officers name appears. We use master files and login names, so the way we're handling this now is the LO is changing their name on page 4, and also changing it on Loan Rep on the Borrower Information Screen before printing/emailing docs, however they can't save the file after changing the Loan Rep.

My suggestion is to allow conditions to be set that are state specific, so if the loan is in Washington, then the LO's name appears with their license number automatically on every form. Similar conditions could also be set for other states. This would go hand-in-hand with conditional print groups, which I have suggested previously. We want to make it as hard as possible for the LO's to be out-of-compliance.

Thanks,
