Point Central Rules Comparing Dates

Is there a way to set a rule that will prevent the user from entering dates in the future (beyond today or today+1)? We've had users accidently enter Date Prepared/Application Date in the future and would like to limit that.

Moving more than a few files at once "crashes" Point Central since the 7.0 "Upgrade"

We have a user that moves upwards of 30-40 files at once from one data folder to another.

The files begin to move and somewhere during processing, it encounters a file that supposedly someone is in but there not. It then somehow interrupts the file sync sql server connection and all clients in the office get the dreaded "INVALID SECURITY KEY". I then have to restart filesync service or rerun the PDS configuration wizard. I spoke to PDS Support and they said I should move the install directory since it is on a 64 bit system in c:\program files(x86)\ directory. They said PDS had an issue with the parens. This is just so weird that all of a sudden the same day as the 7.0 upgrade, we can't move more than one file at a time. Now I have the task of moving our entire installation. Anybody else had this issue?

Fatal error when trying to refresh digital key

Selected Template file is no longer available

Our users are receiving the message "The selected template file is no longer available or it may have been deleted by another user." each time they log into Point and each time they Print. We are using 6.1 with PDS.

Any suggestions on where we might start to look?

PDS Admin Home page shows wrong version of PointCentral Service

I just upgraded from 7.6 to 8.0 SP1. Installer was downloaded at 6:10am eastern time on 11/2/12.

Upgrade went fine, rebooted server, everything came back up.

When I login to PointCentral Admin, the home pages show the wrong version for the PointCentral Service:

Not sure if this is purely cosmetic, or a larger issue.

Report Issue after Upgrade to 8.0

After upgrading to 8.0 everything seems to work with the exception of reports that require Database Access.

When I try to run an NMLS Call Report I get the following Error:

When I run the Point Central Configuration Wizard it finds the database with no problem.

Unable to pull credit information on customers after the most recent update to Point Central 7.5

After the most recent update my users have been reporting that they cannot pull credit bureau information from through Point.

They are getting the following error:

Point was unable to connect to CBCInnovis. Here are some possible causes:

-Your network connection is no longer available.
-A third-party application is blocking Point from using your network connection.

-Unable to resolve the domain for
https://www.creditbureareports.com/servlet/gnbank?command=apiordretpost&logid=username&options=ORD%3DIN+TEXT%3DN+REVL%3DY=REVF%3DX2+Pa%3DXM+PS%DA.
-Error Details: (Response Error: The underlying connection was closed. An unexpected error occurred on receive.)

As far as I know we are not blocking any access to https://www.creditbureauports.com, nor has anything been changed on our firewall side in the last 2 days. This issue began after the most recent update.

Has anyone else run into this issue? If so what was the fix? I'm assuming we need to add a new route in the firewall but everything looks like traffic should be allowed at this point according to our firewall administrator.

Template Set security

Do I understand correctly in that there is no way to give a user the ability to access portions of the Template Set with read only access? If they are to be given access in general, it will be full read/write? Really looking for a way to give LO's access to use things like Master Files, CCS, Loan Programs, and Custom Forms, but not be able to add/edit any of them.

20 character limit to Loan Rep/Agent Name

Starting with 6.0, new loans are now cutting off the Loan Rep field to a 20-character limit. So any agent with a longer full name cannot pull up their loans. For example if I had a user with the name 1234567890123456789012 (22 characters) any new loan made with that agent selected truncates and saves the loan rep as 12345678901234567890. Surely somebody else has run into this, is there a fix/workaround or a missed setting someplace?

Problems after installing new SSL Cert

On all new files created in Point after we recently installed a new SSL Cert we are experiencing problems. It seems that the outisde vendor connections, such us FNMA DO and our credit report vendor, are not working properly. For example, we can get to DO through Point but once findings have been run, we cannot download those findings into Point. I am guessing that there is an issue with the SSL Cert that is causing these other vendors to now allow a full connection. We get a time-out like error message that states an unkown error has occured. Any thoughts?

Setting rules for dates

We have trouble getting everyone to complete the dates required for the mortgage call report. It seems when we set the rules for each date field it goes from one date field to the next requiring all to entered at the same time. Any ideas on setting rules to trigger these dates to be completed would be greatly appreciated. The prospect date and the application date we have no problem with. It seems to be when we get to submitted date, approved date and clear to close date.

We were told we didn't need to update PointCentral from version 7.2 to 7.3 prior to updating clients to Point version 7.4 SP1. Now that SP2 is coming out next week for Point, do we need to update to PointCentral 7.3 and do the server update released today prior to updating Point to 7.4 SP2?

Currently I have the database on SQL 2005. I would like to retire that SQL server and relocate the Point Central database onto SQL 2008 R2. Will this work? Do you suggest just setting it in SQL 2005 compatibility mode?

I read an old post from 2009 that stated the developers said it should work, but I just want to get an update to that.

Could not locate configuration server with MyCalyx based installation

I have a company who was on a network based configuration of Point, centrally installed frm their locate office server.

I am switching them to MyCalyx based distributions as part of their upgrade from 7.2 to 7.3 SP1. Everything went well with my test users, but they get the "Could not Locate Configuration server" pop-up every time they open Point.

I checked winpoint.ini and userprofile.ini's for "config=1" and cannot find it in the usual places, so I'm not sure what I am missing.

PS - I am NOT using a locally cached installation point for MyCalyx installs in any of the installation settings configurations.

Is it possible to cancel pending folder synchronizations? Accidentally forced a full synchro and it is causing all kinds of issues for users, locking people out of files and random chaos!! HELP!!

HMDA Export has a few blank APP numbers

PointCentral 7.2

One of our admins did a forced data fold sync and its been stuck syncing one data folder for the last 3 hours, around the same time it got stuck all of our users werent able to save/move files, and the reservations get stuck.

I've restarted both the file sync service along with iis and rebooted twice for good measure. still stuck syncing.
How do i stop the sync?

are these two problems even related?

Does anyone know how to lock the entire Borrower caylx file from being changed after the Underwiter has approved the file?

Company Default, FHA Consumer Choice Disclosure Notice

There are four users who have modify rights to the company defaults. Under FHA consumer choiuce disclosure notice. At the very bottom, the setting for "Based on an up-front mortgage insurance premium rate of" is being changed. The manager is stating that none of them have changed the %.

Where can I find the file this information is kept in? I would like to audit the modifications to the file to see if I can pin point why this is changing. If it is in a database then I am not sure how to figure it out.

Edit Rules not Displaying

I'm not sure how this might happen. When logged on as the administrator the edit rules screen is blank. Can't edit a rule already created or a newly created rule. I can delete from the main rule selection screen.

Any ideas?

Import old Point 4.2 folder into PDS 6.2

We have what used to be a Point server (not PDS) for a small office, which is running Point 4.2. We want to be able copy a data folder off it up to our Point Data Server (version 6.2) and be able to access it with our Point 6.2a clients. What is the easiest way to accomplish this?

The Operation Has Timed Out error in Windows 7 only - why?

After changing screens, user get this error "The Operation Has Timed Out" and has to close Point or kill process ( only happens on Windows 7).

This started in the last few days after using PDS server for three months without issues. Our PDS server is hosted by FocusIT in the Phoenix, AZ area and we don't have any issues with Windows XP Pro no matter how much we jump from screen to screen.

Now, two users (the only two users) with Windows 7 experiencing this timed out error randomly about twice a day.

Any ideas?

Point Central throwing errors

Hi everyone,

My Point Central server (7.2) has been throwing errors that appear to be preventing my users from receiving the Custom Forms. When the user logs into Point (7.2 SP2) they receive this error:
We are sorry that your request has failed. The details are: -The loan that you have requested is currently not accessible. (PDS Error Code -38) Please contact your Point Sys Admin.

The user clicks ok and Point opens up normally afterward. When the user attempts to print, the requesting template dialogue box remains open for several minutes and then the user gets the following error:
There is an error in the XML document.

Then the print dialogue box opens and all appears normal except that the custom forms are missing.

While this is going on, I noticed in the event viewer on the Point Central server the following error:

The Point server has 3GB of RAM and over 80GB of storage space available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Creating a rule that includes a "User Defined Status Date 1"

I would like to include a "User Defined" field as part of a rule. The problem is when the rule appears in the caution box I cannot identify the purpose of the field. For example, I would like to identify the field as the "Mortgage Approval Contingency Date."

Any guidance?

SQL Express

Currently running Point Central with SQL 2005 Express. As we grow the numbers of users on Point what is other people's experience on when it was necessary to upgrade to the full version of SQL. Did you see a significant performance issues with 30,40,50 users using SQL Express and then improvement when upgrading to the full SQL version?

Borrower Name not appearing on loan list for newly created files

This just started happening ysterday. If I enter a new loan application, save and close it, then do a search to find it, the borrowers name will not appear in the borroer name on the loan list. I have auto filename turned on. I have to go into PDS admin and do a file synch for it to appear. Prior to yesterday, it would appear automatically. What happened?

Here's what's happening:

we make changes to files (date of preparation for GFE, for example), and those are not saving, although the user receives the on-screen message that the data is being saved.
a user exits a file from the edit mode, gets a message telling them that the file is in use by another user (even though they are that user!)
just started a new file, and the borrower's name, LO name and processor name do not display in the pipeline, even though they were supposedly saved by the system

Rules not working ??

Has anyone else experienced rules just stop working?

I can't pinpoint if it had to do with the 7.2 patch or not, but I have some rules that have just stopped working for no reason. Now that I'm seeing it, I can't see why they aren't working either.

I've attached an example that is the most concerning to me. This rule requires the Track:HMDA Reporting fields if the loan status is Closed, Funded, Cancelled, or Denied unless the file is marked as Excluded from HMDA. This rule worked perfectly until just recently when it decided to just stop.

Anyone else?

How to Keep Track of Closed Files (Physically Archived)

When we used Genesis 2000, we used one of the User Defined Numeric Fields to track the physical location (by storage box number) of closed or cancelled files.

What is recommended (or already available) in Point? I searched for help on this, but I guess my brain is already fried from thinking so much about RESPA 2010 that I've lost my capacity to think! :P
