Saving Back from LP

Our processing department is encountering the following problems when sending LP back to POINT.

· We enter points in our GFE as a percentage amount. After saving LP back to Calyx, the points are shown in the percentage box and in the dollar amount field, charging the borrower double

· Child support amount doubles

· "Other income" figure doubles

Please advise if there is a work-around for these issues as this is causing issues throughout the department. We had to deal with this issue in version 5.2 and would have assumed it was fixed in the newest release.

When emailing Calyx Tech Support here is the response or lack thereof that we received: Not acceptable...what is being done to resolve these issues?????????

The "Send to System" box in LP has not been working properly. I would suggest not using this feature in LP. If for any reason you need to resubmit a Point file to LP again just remember to enter 1 of the 3 numbers on the LP screen so that LP don't double charge for submission. Thanks.

Validation of data for DU/LP

Our LOs take applications. Our processors run AUS. If there is something in the file missing that needs to be there, LP/DU, etc. gives an error prior to running AUS - which means the file goes back to the LO to fix. Is there a way for the LO to run this validation check but not actually run LP or DU, etc.? It's been several years, but I want to say Byte had a feature like this.

LP overwriting Data in Point 5.2a

Everyone,

I read that this was a major issue in 2005, but my people are running into it again on a smaller scale.

The Dependent's Age field is being overwritten. It's a bit strange, because it is not just clearing the field. This action seems to be overwriting only part of the data. It is "nibbling away" at the ages.

For example, if the ages are 3,7,9 before LP, they become only 9 after. I have searched through Freddie Mac and cannot find a dependents age field anywhere.

Are there any fixes out there?

I am currently using Point Version 5.2a and wanted to know if this version will be compatible with the new LP interface since LP Classic is retiring at the end of March.

Any information that can be provided would be very helpful.

Also if it is not compatible, does anyone have a guide, walk through, or best practices for the new LoanProspector.com?

other income

We have some users that are complaining that Point duplicates other income (military base pay, schedule E, etc). Looking into it, it appears that this is occuring after running the loan through LP. User is entering the information correctly in Point under other income, which poplulates the income correctly under Gross Monthly income. They run the loan through LP, findings are correct, but when they choose to send results back to Point, the income is duplicated on the line above where the other income is already showing. Is there something they should be doing different or is this another LP/Point glitch?

Co Borrower Income

Prior to 5.1 if a co borrower did not have income you would just leave all of the employment information blank and it would be ignored in LP.

Now if you do this you get an LP error message that is looking for income on the co borrower? If you just put a 0 in the monthly income on the LP side the findings come back with requirements for paystub, w-2 etc for the co-borrower.

After a lot of trial and error you must do all of the following to avoid getting the error message and get the correct LP findings:
enter 0 in years on work
enter 0 in years at job
enter 0 in months at job
enter 0 in monthly income

The only apparent new feature is that when you submit a file to LP now you have the ability to "send to your sytem" . But this is not working properly- see my thread on LP Liabilities.

Also, when you now submit a loan to LP, you are in a restricted window which makes navigating within LP inoperable. Also the window does not allow you to cut and paste as well as other windows features.

5.1 so far is creating more work.

Auto File Save in 5.2

We currently do not have auto file save on because we want to be able to run different scenario's and have the ability to revert back to the initial way we had the file. Since going to 5.2 it appears that the changed data does not go to LP without saving 1st. Has anyone else found this to be true?

Non-working Co-borrower

I have a feeling I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure it out. I've tried using the new LP interface a couple of times and the main problem I'm having is with unemployed co-borrowers. Mainly working husbands whose wives stay at home. When I use the new interface and get into LP, it makes me enter an income amount and answer yes or no in the self-employed box for the CB. Then my findings are asking for income docs for a CB who doesn't even work!

The old interface never had a problem with this. Am I doing something wrong?

Deleted Liabilities Total

It appears that the total balance of liabilities disappear after the results have been “sent to your system” from LP. This in turn causes the net worth to equal the total assets. We have discovered that if you simply reenter one of the liability balances on page 3, the total returns and the net worth is recalculated, but it would be nice to see a fix for this.

Clearing th LP Number

I just ran the Calyx download to clear the LP key from a borrower file. It seemed to work oK, however, I have tried submitting the file to LP several times and I get the following error from LP:

Error

An unexpected error occurred. Please exit your browser. If the problem persists, please contact 800-FREDDIE.

Anyone else had this problem? At this point I don't know if clearing the LP key has anything to do with it or not. Never had the above error message in the past.

Investment properties and Second homes

Ok, 2nd issue of the day.

Ever since upgrading to Calyx 5.1, I have yet to get investment properties or second homes to LP correctly. I keep getting an error message about the monthly payment on the primary not being included in the total debt.

Is there something I'm missing? Page 3 of the app is reconciled to the credit and all of the properties are matched on the new LP addendum, however LP is not reading all of the mortgage debts for some reason.

Anyone else having this type of issue? if so, what did you do to fix this.

I'm doing my first stated income file since the conversion to 5.1 and in reviewing the help documentation, I do not see this addressed.

Loan Prospector generates errors after 5.1 upgrade

When upgraded from Point 5.0 to 5.1 a week ago and I must say, we have had problems galore. Most we have been able to work out and resolve, one problem still seems to hang around and that is Freddie Mac and loan prospector.

When we run loan prospector in point 5.1 (this is on a half a dozen workstations) and attempt to download our data we recive the following error:

- Exported Failed!
Exported failed file C:\winpoint\work\freddie2WayRequestData.xml

We contacted Loan Prospector and to trouble shoot it and they brought it to our attention that it is a problem within Point5.1. Any help or suggestions?

MAJOR issues with LP writing back to Calyx

Ok, the more I look in to what LP is writing back to my system more I am having an issue with this. A MAJOR issue to be more precise.

It's bad enough that LP is overwriting the liability section, but now I'm finding it's overwriting data in the Income section of my 1003. I'm basically having to re-verify every single field on the 1003 after LP'ing the file. This is completely unacceptable. I have no desire to underwrite a file twice and have LP change data on my system.

I really need 2 things at this point. 1. I need a list of ALL fields that LP writes back to Calyx and 2. I need an ETA on when the fix will be in place where the end user can control what fields LP has the ability to update.

Without that level of control of MY data, I feel that it is in our company's best interest to convert back to 5.0, even if that means that we will be unable to deal with one of our secondary market investors (Flagstar Bank has informed us that 5.1 is a requirement to interface with them).

LP liabilities

In calyx 5.1 you must now use drop down box for liability type or else LP does not pick up debt, never did this before. Also, within Calyx you must use the liability type box R, I M or else calyx will not pick up debt in ratios or on 1008.

This now creates a Problem when from within LP you "Send to Your System" - LP changes the box R I M to a blank and now calyx does not pick up debt in ratios or on 1008. Even Bigger problem you must now go back to each liability and re input the R I M box and when you do this for an existing liability the monthly payment changes to what Calyx uses as its formula and not what may be the correct payment from the credit report. So you have to reinput the monthly payment for R type liabilities.

Considering how many times loans get rerun this makes you not want to use 5.1 anymore.

Error when submitting to L P

After up dating to 5.1 I now receive an error when submitting to L P. The error reads:

The file format of the import file is invalid. Please verify and try again.

I have my seller and TPO in place. This error appears even when I am trying to submit to the AUS and not to any other party.

Old LP in Point 5.1

I installed Point 5.1 today and really liked it UNTIL I started working on the last file of the day. Looks like the LO ran it through LP a couple of weeks ago and didn't enter the AUS Key number in Point. Normally, it's not a big deal, but with 5.1 the space for the Key number is greyed out. So how am I supposed to upload this file without getting charged for it again? Surely I'm missing something here...

Any thoughts?

Internet Explorer Script Error

Here's my problem. We've loaded 5.1 and the first LP I did worked like a charm...

The second LP, however, is coming up with IE Scripting Errors. I'm currently on hold with FHLMC, but thought that I'd check here as well. (as info, the first was in Borrower, the 2nd in Prospect but I can't imagine it's that simple)

I'm not even sure where to begin, is this LP, is this our internal Internet, is this Calyx 5.1? Anyone else having issues?

Starting August 1st, LP no longer accepts non-HMDA compliant files. If you submit to LP from Point, make sure you are submitting HMDA compliant files. You can make sure this is enabled on Point 4.4 or 4.3 by going to Utiliites > 2004 Changes Environment and set the LP format to "2.1". Also, don't use the manual export method using File > Export > Freddie Mac (Local), and instead use Interfaces > Freddie Mac > Transactions to submit to LP; this will ensure the correct file format is exported.
