Over the weekend we upgraded to PDS v6.1sp1 and Client v 6.2.  I started the forced rebuild of the additional fields.  I noticed that the sync was taking way too long.  I went and checked the event log and I noticed that I was getting the same error over and over again.

Event Type: Warning

Then the pdsfilesync.exe crashes

I was on the phone with the support guys and they told me I have to let the sync "run it's course"  but it has been running for 2 days.  I can't run reports and files are disappearing.
Can anyone help?

The resync will need to finish but you can correct this error for the remaining files.  Stop the pdsfilesync service. Then go to the pds admin custom fields page.  remove and readd your custom fields.  Then restart pds filesync.

I don't understand what you mean by "remove and read".  When I go to the custom fields page there is no option to remove or read.

sorry not enough coffee this morning. that should have read "remove the custom fields and readd the custom fields back." This is the only current way to update the fields type in the database.
