| Bryan Telford (9/4/2008) Do you remember the name of the individual who gave you the information that it would be fixed in 6.1a? I would like to make sure we correct the misinformation you were given.
Thanks,
Sorry I wish I did this is a project managed by several different Tech's on our end and many calls with the issue. Oh and just for grins as I write this I am waiting for a backup to be restored yet again from a file I just restored today (how nice is that I get the LO screaming in my ear 2X today for the same file!)
My question for you then, if you say 6.2 will remedy this, then you acknowledge the problem and acknowledge you have fixed it, so with that being said. What/why is this happening and how did you remedy this issue? Yes I know the candid response of "We created 6.2 and applied it and its fixed". But what specifically are we talking here was the problem and the solution to resolving this serious matter? |

| | Something that might help if you have the diskspace, Run a Shadow copy every hour though 2003 or 2008. If you have 200, there are 3rd party software packages that add this kind of funcionallity. We have been running hourly shadows for over a year.
All information may be wildly inaccurate and/or incorrect. Use at your own risk. |

| Thats a novel idea and would help, but instead of band aiding a problem with a company's software and using 2X+ the disc space just to remedy their problem is not acceptable. As stated we are already in the process of switching to Encompass as of the last post. Currently deployed and structure being setup. I can say thus far the user/security and folder/file structure configurations are 100X better and more definable than Point's rudimentary structure.
Anyhow fun while it lasted on to bigger better things I guess. |

Anyhow fun while it lasted on to bigger better things I guess.Just as a comment, really bad form and unprofessional to post this kind of thing on Calyx's support website. I know the Calyx guys can't say anything, but I can. Please do me the favor, as a Calyx support user, of keeping your posts on 'point' (no pun intended, but it is kinda punny). |

| Agree. Although I can see why he is frustrated. The support on this board is much better then the support when you call in. Everytime I call they refuse to give me a ticket number and say a level 2 will call me back. I never get a call back.
Thank you,Eric J. Lilly |

As a our support contract is still current although we are switching products, I think that entitles me to say what I will as to advise other users who are having this problem as posted and getting empty promises or no responses at all. Sorry but in today's economy and housing market time is money and losing loans completely due to a program being upgraded (that usually means make things better by the way!) Not totally breaking a basic function such as a file being saved/erased just by switching screens.
And the Calyx Support guys could say something, even better they did when they added that this problem was fixed in a small one liner at the very bottom of the updated features of the 6.2 release. Funny the whole time they would not admit that it was a problem... Yet they fixed it so that assuringly means there was a problem. I mean in order to fix something it had to be broken correct? Just dont feel like wasting more man hours to find out if its true or not, already invested to many wasted as it was.
So if you dont like the post feel free to report it, and another word of advice... Dont read it then. Thats what a forum is for - Advice, opinions, comments etc. And thats exactly what I did... I voiced mine.
Anyhow this will be the last post here from me. Thanks to all those who did respond and the emails regarded other issues. I have no further use to come here. Enjoy and have a good day. |
