Now that we've upgraded to the 6.1, what happened to the C:/Winpoint/Work folder that the fnm applications gets saved to?  All previous files saved there have been deleted.

I am assuming your talking about exports from the file menu.  The simple thing to do is specify the directory by choosing your desktop.  I'll see about making this the new default in a future version of Point.

To answer your question about "what happened to the work folder".  For some reason, Calyx decided to move it to a different location based on the user.

To see the work folder, do the following:

Instructions for Windows XP
  Open My Computer
Click the Tools menu, then select Folder Options, then select the View tab
Under Advance Settings click the radio button next to Show hidden files and folders, then click OK
  Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application Data\Calyx Software\Point
This is where you will see the Work folder.

Directions for Windows Vista will be forthcoming.

Calyx-

Do you have any idea the trouble that moving the work folder has caused? My users used to Export to c:\Winpoint\work. They knew exactly where to look for the exported file. Now they export a file and call me because they can't find it. Sending exports to a folder buried deep in the user profile underneath a hidden folder was a really stupid move (I call 'em like I see 'em).

It was hard enough to teach a bunch of non-computer-savvy users how to find the old work folder. I'm not going to bother to try to teach them to find the new one. An alternate location will be found.

If c:\winpoint\work had to go away you should have chosen something easy to find, like a "Point Exports" folder in the users "My Documents".

Annoyance with the new location aside, moving the work folder to the user profile will make running Point in a Citrix or Terminal Services environment much easier.

The temp Work folder location was changed to resolve a lot of issues with files colliding with on another, in multi-user environments. People who share the same computer will now have their passwords for interfaces, without having to worry about messing someone else up. The "Work" folder location for Fannie exports is an oversight. For now, you will have to teach the users to click "Desktop" or "My Documents" icon on the left side of the dialog box, and save it to their preferred folder. I apologize for the inconvenience. We'll work on this.
