| Is there anyway I can create a report that I can change and save. Everytime I want to change a report and save that report if have to create a new name for that report. This has been happening in all the versions of point I have used (currently using 6.0). The boxes are check to allow editing and allow saving but my disc icon is grayed out. Any help would be greatly appreciated

| are you referring to the report template or the generated report which displays the data?

| | I'm referring to the report template. Because of how the reports must be generated in 6.0 I constently have to change closing dates in the template to pull the proper report. Based off previous posts I have to change those dates in the templates. Therefore I must save my changes to my template in order to save the required dates or conditions for the data I'm trying to access. Problem is that every little change I make I must save the report (template) as a new report (template) even though my permissions allow for editing and saving. Is there a patch out there that will fix this problem. It appears that the reports in 6.0 are not as effective in reporting specifics as the reports in the previous versions of point. The idea of the new reports is good but the access to actually pull accurate data still needs a lot of work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

| | The permissions you see in the report template don't apply to the template but rather the viewer the generated report is displayed in. It sounds like the directory where your reports are kept is set to read only and its a windows permission. Do you have the templates on your computer or on the network? Once we correct the read-only attribute for all your report templates you will probably find the new 6.0 interface a little better. if you us AU: for the condition's value in your report template. Then the field name will show up on the report generation screen so you to fill out the applicable condition for this report generation.

| One other thing. IF I create a report I can save over the report as long as I don't exit out of point. Once I exit I must create a new report if I want to add additional document to the report.

| AU stands for ask user. The issue you describe sounds like you have permission to create files but not to edit them. Its not some thing Point handles. It sounds like the settings for templates is messed up in windows it may be the pnttempl directory or pnttempl/report. You might try to remove your self from the directory permission set and and your self back with full control.
