When I follow the instructions in help to import Outlook data into Cardex using 6.0 PDS, there is no import command only export. What do I need to do to get the import command to show in the Cardex Database [Browsing All Records] window?

I have complete read/write settings and am the administrator for all folders / templates, everything.

Thanks for your response in advance.

Bob

This is somewhat tricky. The best approach is to export the records you want from Outlook to an Excel or CSV file. Then you open Cardex in MS Access and do an import. You have to make sure you match up the fields excactly.

For a longer term solution, you can write custom software to do regular synchronization.

Well this is for PDS so that approach won't work.

I can't recall why we were not supporting import from the start ( Think its to prevent a user from malicously importing junk )  What you have to do is run Point outside of PDS then import from outlook, even though we have a way to import directly form outlook I feel the best approach is to export the contacts from outlook into a cvs file.  Then use cardex to import them and export the cardex db to PDS format.  Your pds admin can then import the contacts with PDS admin
