| ok...so the "application" and "user" lines are the only ones that need to point to the user's specific \winpoint folder? The PNTTEMPL can stay the same?
Also, can you explain what the \winpoint\user folder is for? The \winpoint folder up on the f:\ drive (where I installed originally) now has alot more stuff in it than when I first copied it over to each user's profile right after the install. What should each user have in their \user folder?
What about the \work folder?

| Each user has their own \winpoint folder (under c:\documents and settings\userid\winnpoint. I changed the "application" and "user" lines to point to that \winpoint folder (w:\winpoint)...now, when I logon as a user to PDS, it says "none of the data folders are accessible at this time".
There is nothing in the user's \winpoint\user folder. |

What should each user have in their \user folder? The user directory is were Point will store some user specific configuration settings. There is not default content for this directory as Point will create it when needed.
What about the \work folder? Point uses this directory as a temporary scratch directory the information contained with in this directory does not need to be persisted.

| | Make sure each users winpoint has PDS enabled in the winpoint.ini you should see some thing like this [PDS]
Enable=1
WebService=https://www.pds-qa.com/service/
SecurityKey= some encrypted string.

| I think I got it!
I was mapping my w: to the root of winpoint folder for the specific user, but my winpoint.ini settings were to w:\winpoint and w:\winpoint\user. Changed to w:\ and w:\user and it appears to work.

| I have found that in a citrix environment when i setup "userdrive"\windows\winpoint.ini, and within the ini file i point the USER path the the specific user\userprofile.ini... Problem i am having is that the winpoint.ini file is getting overwritten to the specific user \windows\winpoint.ini, taking it from the servers c:\windows\winpoint.ini... Almost like its copying the file out to the users \windows\ shared drive.... Anyway to stop this??

| citrix/TS will copy the c:\windows\winpoint.ini file into each user when they log in. It is a feature i beleve you can turn off,(not sure how) the easy thing to do is delete or rename the c:\windows\winpoint.ini file.

| You don't know how much this has helped me . Thanks so much for asking the question I was going to ask again. I did an Active Directory upgrade from NT and I did log-on scripts for each user and the default profile is pointed the C:\Document and Setting\Userprofile\windows\Winpoint.ini when using TS in a NT domain, but as you upgrade to an Active Directory evironment and have home drives the Winpoint.ini gets created in there you then have to change that to the correct user profile path in the C:\Winpoint\userfolder\username you should then be all set. |
