I'd like to be able add a graphic (my signature) to the 1003, and other docs that require the LO's signature.  That way when I email docs to a borrower, they get them signed by me.  I'm trying to go paperless, but I always end up having to print docs, so that I can sign them.

If I could put my signature on the docs initially, then the borrower would print them (on their end), sign and date, fax back to me (into my e-fax), then I'd have the images of the signed docs, and I can email those to the lender.  NO PAPER on my end.

Instead, the way it is now, the borrower faxes me the docs, I have to print them, sign, scan back into my system (losing resolution), then email to lender, then shread the paper I just signed.

Help me go paperless

Thanks
Jay

Does anyone from Calyx read this group?  What do you think about this?

jay, you pose an interesting question. I never thought of doing that. I like the idea of being able to add a signature, especially to the 1003. All we would need is for the Lender Signature lines in the PDFs to allow signatures. I would love that too. Anyone else like this idea???

I am not sure the signature would be legal.  a picture of a signature is not a digital signature.  That said its an interesting idea.

It's a great idea. I will definitely pass your suggestion to the product team to see if there is way to automatically integrate e-signatures.

Also, that many lenders are not yet accepting e-signatures - just something to be aware of though things are definitely moving more in that direction. As I'm sure you know, some lenders aren't willing to take e-signatures because it doesn't stand up in court as well as an ink signature.

There are probably dozens of products that can digitally sign PDF documents. You can print as PDF from Point and then sign the PDF, probably one-by-one since you'll have to pick the exact location of the signature.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about digitally signing the 1003.  I'm talking about embedding (or overlaying) my a graphic file of my signature upon the 1003.  BTW I'd need to be able to date the 1003 too.  Additionally, I'd need to be able to put my signature on any other point form that requires the L.Os signature (like the 92900a for example)

Thanks
Jay

jay, have you looked at this software? It appears to allow you to add signatures to documents.

I have not used it but one of my LOs is recommending that we look at it as an option.
