| | Hi, I defined some shared form print groups in Prospect. But those groups do appear in Borrower. How do I copy or otherwise make those same groups appear when I go to print a Borrower?? Thanks Jay |

| There are a few different ways to do this. - open your winpoint/pcl folder and copy the prspg.ini file. Delete your brwpg.ini file and then rename your copy of prspg.ini as brwpg.ini. This will replicate what you have in your Prospect Print Group to your Borrower Print Group. If you have print groups in Borrower currently, they will be overwritten by what is in the Prospect group. If you want to keep these and just add what you have in Prospect, follow number 2
- Open winpoint/pcl and then open your prspg.ini in Notepad. Copy the contents of the file. Open your brwpg.ini file and paste your copied print groups at the end. I scroll through the list to make sure that I do not have any duplicated print group names, if I do, I add “P-“ to the front so I know it came from my prospect print groups to eliminate confusion. Save and then close.
Just as an FYI, Point has 4 print group ini files. They are brwpg, prspg, cobrwpg, and coprspg. I usually just keep one master (brwpg) and number 1 to have all of my print groups the same. Hope this helps you Jay

| Print groups can be stored in both winpoint\pcl and pnttempl\printgroups. Point allows the user to have "My Print Groups" and "Shared Print Groups". My Print Groups are stored in winpoint\pcl

| I stopped using SHARED print groups about 2 hrs after they were rolled out. I shared out around 140 print groups and immediately had branches calling in with clocking issues. Some were taking as long as 3 minutes for the print menu to open. Locations accessing over a VPN were as long as 8 minutes.

| Yes true. Print groups are very slow over the VPN with many print groups. If you have PDS 5.3, this will be much less of an issue

| | Oh, I didn't realize that about print groups. I plan on using a VPN so I'll take note. Jay |

| It might be fine in your case over a VPN - it just depends on the size. As JohnP said, he has 140 print groups.

| If you vpn you probably want local templates.
