Pulling Credit in Point on a Termial Server

I had a call from a client, he is unable to pull credit when using Point on the Terminal Server. I logged onto the Termial Server and he and I walked through what he was doing. I got the same error code: E999 Source: Credit Beureau - Other Error - Request Data not found. Ran the steps on my system

I had a call from a client, he is unable to pull credit when using Point on the Terminal Server.  I logged onto the Termial Server and he and I walked through what he was doing. I got the same error code: E999 Source: Credit Beureau - Other Error - Request Data not found.  Ran the steps on my system and everything ran fine.  Checked with Gary, and made sure that the WinPoint folder is set for everyone to have Full Control. Ran test again on the Termial Server with the same results.

I have seen this error caused by two things:

1) incorrect user id/password. Try deleting the file embdcredit.ini in the winpoint\embdinterface folder

2) make sure the user has the latest Interface update. Go to Help > Check for Updates > Get latest interface list. There was a bug in 5.2 that caused the error on a couple vendors

I am receiving a similar error Code: E999 Source: CreditBureau

-No record was generated because of the following problems

-Please enter correct Logid

-Please correct these problems and resubmit your order.

The credit bureau says it's a  Point issue and I followed the advice above with no luck.  Any other suggestions before I tell the credit bureau it's their problem?

It sounds very close to invalid login. Does this problem occur on all the computers running Point that are pulling credit? Or is it just isolated to one computer?

nvelocitydotcom - sorry I just realized you are using Terminal Server.
  1. Does the problem occur for all the users that are pulling credit?
  2. What version of Point is on your Terminal Server box?
  3. Does everybody utilize the same user ID and password to pull credit from this vendor?

If no to question 3, you might try setting the embdcredit.ini file (\winpoint\embdinterface) to read-only, so the user cannot check Save Password and have the log id and password saved into the INI file. Better, you should give each user their own Winpoint folder.

It ended up being a user error....even after I asked them five times if they knew for sure their password was working.
