I can empthaize with your concerns. But we pretty much followed the specs for Freddie Mac's "LP 2-way" interface. Only data that you added or updated on the website should change in Point when you click Send to Your System. This is the same thing that happens when you download results from Fannie DU.

LP-2 way is being used by all the major LOS systems and many other software providers now http://www.loanprospector.com/about/vendors.html.
