| I have tried e-mail but outlook blocked access to the file because it is unsafe.

| you have to rename the file as a .doc and then have the recepient change it back to a .pcd file.

| | Or place the PCD file in a Zip file... I once did as John had suggested, with meticulous instructions in the email about renaming the file and putting it in the custom doc folder. I relieved an angry call a couple hours later about why was the form printing mail merge codes and not the data--it turned out that the client saw the Import button, assumed that I didn't know what I was doing, ignored Point's warning about pre-existing mail merge codes, and then wondered what happened. |

| The trouble with zips are some email servers have decided to be smart and look inside. If they see a file that is forbidden they still reject the attachment. Your best bet is to change the file extension to some thing like .txt.

| | Amen to that! "Smart" in a "dumb" way. They also like to block URL's (especially than end in ".exe"), any Microsoft Office file, anything that looks like a script, and anything with the word "mortgage" in it. It's getting pretty hard to send emails anymore. I like to zip files then change the extension to .piz but I found at least one email server that blocked that! The .txt inside of a zip is probably the best bet but then the recipient needs to be able to follow extraction and renaming instructions. I have found it difficult to get non-technical people to do that very effectively. Lately, I use some services that just allow me to send a link that they log into. It just can't end with ".exe" or that will get blocked too. As a last resort, I just post it to the website and tell them where to download it. Hmmmm . . . maybe a disk and a stamp would be easier.
